Today we’d like to introduce you to The Tennessee Werewolves
Hi The Tennessee, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The first werewolf sighting was in 2,100 BC. We coined our band The Tennessee Werewolves in 2016. If you look into our history you’ll see we’ve been called Outlaws, Country, & RockNRoll.
Everything we create is made with authenticity of what we like to hear and then shared with our fans. We never aim to fall into the Nashville cliche of making the same sounding song over and over. Our music is intended to not only be heard but to also be felt. The band consists of Christian Wolf on Drums, Antoine Wolf on Bass, Angel Mary Lead Vocals & Guitar along with the recent addition of Chris Wingo Lead Vocals & Keyboard. Wingo was originally brought in to cowrite with us, but after hearing what Angel Mary and Wingo sounded like together, we had to make him a werewolf. He fits the brand and brings a whole new element to the sound. You can hear his debut with us on our recent single “They Don’t Care About Us”. We reimagined the Michael Jackson song with a whole new musical take, with the intention of poking the establishment right in the eyes.
Currently with the aid of our Producer Brian Bonds, we are continuing to write and record new material that will feature Chris Wingo & Angel Mary as Co Lead Vocalist. The Tennessee Werewolves music is created for all who will listen. Everyone is welcome to join our Wolfpack. Billboard Magazine labeled us the “The Next Wave of Rock” & we intend to prove that to the world.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are learning curves in everything in life. And there’s no exception in the music business. The biggest thing we learned is to never take anyone’s advice who isn’t willing to do anything for you. Any bump in the road has only made us stronger and wiser. “The Lego Movie” said it best “Everything is awesome when you’re part of a team.”
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We specialize in melting faces during our live shows! Hearing us on recording is one thing, but you have to see us live to get the full experience. We are best known for our remake of Folsom Prison Blues with Johnny Cash’s son John Carter Cash, & Rob Caggiano (Volbeat, Anthrax). I think what sets us apart from others is everything. There’s no one who sounds like us, dresses like us, or thinks like us. We are an ORIGINAL in every way. We are most proud that we have never been a trend chaser.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Wearing a mask on a plane is a terrible experience. And apparently, whether you’ve been vaccinated or not, you can still get Covid. Recently Dr Fauci on PBS explained how there was never even a clinical trial done, showing the 6 feet apart guideline to be effective. 2020 was nuts! Music wasn’t considered “essential” so none of us could tour. I think everyone learned important lessons during that time of life.
