Hidden Gems: Meet Alexandra Taylor of Zalea Management

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Taylor

Hi Alexandra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began learning about marketing in high school through taking college level classes on marketing and business. During my first year at Belmont University studying marketing, I decided to start a social media marketing agency. I had done product based online businesses before so had some knowledge of running a business, but really went into it blind.

My first year of business I spent learning high ticket skills in social media marketing through free online courses, project to project work, and a job I had as a marketing & sales coordinator where I was also a social media manager for the company’s Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and X. This really gave me the knowledge I used to start taking on full social media management clients.

From there, I began outreaching to local women focused wellness businesses and started to get clients. I now focus on full social media management and coaching women business owners on how to run their own social media marketing.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
At first, it was all learning and failing to learn. I didn’t really know what I was doing when it came to putting marketing and running a business on it together, but as I continued to work and work more I learned. Everything seemed smooth and I was taking it slow to learn, but then I lost my full-time job. I struggled to find another which motivated me to go all in on my business. After months of struggling to find the right way to outreach to businesses, I finally found my way and began doing my business as my full-time work.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Zalea Management is a social media marketing agency. I specialize in social media management, branding, and social strategizing. I also just recently started coaching women business owners on creating a authentic brands through social media and social strategizing. I love being able to help others grow their business through something we all have access to today. What really stands out with Zalea compared to other agency’s is a focus on the psychology of marketing and target audiences. I want businesses to know that in the end, it isn’t how wide your following is, it’s how deep it is. You want to target a specific audience to sell your products/services to, not everyone as a whole (leave that to the influencers).

What was your favorite childhood memory?
I remember when I was in elementary school, learning about finances and business/sales through time spent with my grandpa. My grandpa worked in sales his whole life and my dad followed. My grandpa owned a couple of businesses while my dad was young including a sports cards machine business. My grandpa taught me how to manage money from a young age. I never realized how important those conversations about money and business would be until I was managing both simultaneously together.
