Check Out Dean Scallan and Steve Branch’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dean Scallan and Steve Branch

Hi Branch & Dean, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Born and raised in Macclenny, Florida, hometown friends Steve Branch and Dean Scallan have shared a lifetime of history between them. They decided to form a country duo and called themselves Branch & Dean. They started their careers off with a bang by signing a management deal with the great Erv Woolsey who saw the duo’s explosive live show. Their first single, “Your Ol’ Lady’s Gone” was released in Europe first where they garnered a 10-week #1 in the United Kingdom. They were asked to perform at the British Country Music Awards as a result. The duo’s start to a promising career took an unfortunate twist as Steve Branch lost his only son Theron to Cystic Fibrosis in 2013. This led the duo to dedicate their talents to helping find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. Branch & Dean were then named National Celebrity Ambassadors for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Their song “The Dash” has been an anthem for the Cystic Fibrosis community and the duo has donated their time to this cause helping raise over 4 million dollars to date. Their lyric-driven songs and rocking 90’s country throwback sound have packed venues and landed them on stages with some of country music’s biggest names. They are currently signed with SSM Nashville Records in Nashville, TN.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s a tough business. It’s tough to keep up with everything an artist has to juggle. However, we have been so blessed to have met so many fans from all over the world.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are mostly known for our work with Cystic Fibrosis. Losing Branch’s son, Theron to Cystic Fibrosis led us to make music with a mission. We have donated our time and been a part of raising a lot of money for the cause. God made music to change lives and we have seen the impact a song can have with our song, “The Dash.” Since the beginning, we pray before every single show that we could just touch even just one person in the audience.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Pray a lot and don’t give up!
