Meet Kaylee Federmann of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaylee Federmann.

Kaylee Federmann

Hi Kaylee, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Last Dollar Studios is a hidden gem in the heart of Nashville Tn. Originally designed by Micheal Cronin and John McBride who also designed Black Bird Studios. The space was privately owned and operated by Big & Rich. Specifically, Big Kenny owned the house directly in front of the studio. The property was sold in the last few years and taken over by a family who do not work in the music industry. Kaylee Federmann and Willy Sinclair are a production duo as well as individual artists. In January of 24′ they connected with the new owners and pitched opening the studio to public and having new artists and bands come record and film content. The owners generously agreed and the space has been booked out since.

Last Dollar is a two floor 1800 sq ft space, with a control room, live room and several isolation booths. The studio carries a variety of high class microphones and is equipped with a vintage Ludwig drum kit along with a baby grand Baldwin piano.

Kaylee Federmann is a indie/pop artist with over 2.8 million streams across all platforms and over 60k + on social media platforms. She has opened for Ally Brooke of Fifth Harmony among several other American Idol acts. She is now also the acting manager and co-producer of Last Dollar Studios.

Willy Sinclair is a top 40 charting producer with over 200M streams in his pocket. He has produced for artists like Will Paquin, Jimmy Cloud (Kaylee Federmann). He’s toured and MD’d for local artist and rising star Brooke Alexx opening for Nicotine Dolls. Willy, is the leading engineer and producer at Last Dollar Studios

This studio hold years of hit making history from artists like Big & Rich, Tim McGraw, Mumford and Sons, Kid Rock and many more. Now, the studio is also offers tape services and is known for doing live to tape videos as well as regular live in studio videos for artists. Genre has no bounds as the studio has had every kind of music recorded there.

The goal of the studio is host creatives in any and every way. From sync and writing camps to live sessions to small events. Nashville has many options for places to record, however Last Dollar offers a genuine artist to artist experience dedicated in detail to you and your project unlike any other studio space in Nashville.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Some of the struggles have been learning how to technically operate the space. The studio was custom designed and when Kenny moved out, there was not real blueprint on the routing of single. Willy and Kaylee spend hours among hours troubleshooting and modernizing parts of the studio to be more workflow friendly. Now, you can simply plug your computer in and play. Along the way, our friend and skilled engineer Jackson Gruber has joined our team!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
A storyteller at heart and a songwriter by trade, Kaylee Federmann’s music is turning ears. She has secured a nomination for Pop Artist of the Year and New Artist of the Year at the Boston Music Awards, as well as a nomination for Pop Act of the Year at the 2021 New England Music Awards. Originally from Boston MA, Kaylee attended Berklee College of Music before dropping out and moving to Nashville where she currently resides. She has built a strong online following and community with her music. Her song ‘Her Song’ sparked large viewership on TikTok, which in turn generated over 2 million streams, followed by ‘You Rlly Know’ with nearly 500k streams. She has opened for artists like Ally Brooke of Fifth Harmony, Sara Grace from The Voice and others. Her live show is unique and engaging, with a live vocoder (played by Kaylee herself), live looping and unique melodies that will keep you on your feet. Now being the manager and co producer at Last Dollar studios, Kaylee specializes in vocal production and sync.
