Check Out Zion Ross’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zion Ross

Hi Zion, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always been surrounded by creativity. My mom always encouraged me to create, she honed in on my interests and pushed me to cultivate those interests. It all started when I got a camera as a gift and just dove into photography. I’d take pictures of anything and everything, and soon I began doing photoshoots with my friends around the neighborhood. That’s when I really fell in love with it, and Zion Jayd Photography was born. It holds a special place in my heart. Today, I still enjoy doing lifestyle and product photography for businesses. Along the way, I noticed content creation and influencing were getting bigger, and I’ve been lucky enough to work with some awesome brands and projects. Now, I use my content to share things I love, like cooking, home decor, and fashion. Photography and content creation have been such a great outlet for me as I figure out where I want my career to go.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been easy. As a creator, it’s hard for me to stick to just one thing, and honestly, that can get pretty frustrating. I’ve thought about going full-time with photography, but I’ve held back because, as much as I enjoy it, I know I’d probably want to switch things up soon after. That’s why I prefer to keep it as a hobby and do it when I feel like it so that what I create stays genuine. Sometimes, I just feel stuck and not inspired enough to create, so it’s important for me to keep my options open and try new things.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I like to think of myself as a content creator, even though it’s not something I do full-time. I actually have a degree in Psychology from Fisk University, and I plan to dive deeper into that field soon. Along the way, I’ve mixed in photography, participated in events, and been part of different panels. I’d love to grow my platform and create content that resonates with young women like me. I used to try to plan out my whole life, but I’m learning that it doesn’t really work that way. I’m so grateful for the experiences I’ve had, and I truly believe everything ties into my purpose. God has blessed me with so many opportunities, and I’m still learning and growing as a creator. Whether it becomes something full-time or not, it brings me happiness, and that’s what really matters to me.

How do you think about luck?
God has truly blessed me with a gift and opened so many doors for me to use it. It’s been such a fun journey so far, and since I’m still young, I know there’s so much more for me to learn and experience. I really feel like this is just the beginning. As long as opportunities keep coming my way, I’m excited to keep shining my light and working with amazing people. When my mom started Dew Butter Body, she really inspired me to keep my photography hobby going. It pushed me to get more serious about it and explore things like content creation and marketing. I can see both of our businesses becoming really successful, and I’m excited to see how it all turns out.
