Today we’d like to introduce you to Joey and TomE

Hi Joey and TomE, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
TENL0 formed in 2017 and includes longtime bandmates TomE Labrosse and Joey Zak. Rising from the ashes of a bankrupt record label and a disbanded national touring act, the two decided to take a risk and form a duo rock group.

TomE – “Starting out we knew we wanted to take an unconventional approach” – the two commissioned famed “Saved By The Bell” Star Dustin Diamond (RIP) to be in their debut music video for “Kill All the Things” (recorded in Nashville). Diamond portrays “Harvey Weinstein” – Kill All The Things debuted on TMZ and was then picked up by major news outlets all over the world including The NY Times, Billboard and many more. The video had over 100k views in its first day. Dustin also continued to help the band with other projects and starred in another music video for “Running Out of Time”.

Joey – “Playing drums, guitar and keys my whole life, I knew I was ready to write and perform these instruments with TENLo. What I wasn’t anticipating was taking the role of lead singer. In 2017, after trying out many prospects, we decided to take this route. We have since written and recorded over 30 singles, all in house. We produce, record, and perform all parts.”

TomE – “There was a huge learning curve when we first started recording ourselves, but now we have a formula that seems to be working”

In 2020, during covid, TENLo also had famed actress “Stormy Daniels” in their music video for their song “Sunlight.” They remain friends to this day, despite dragging her into the desert and making her haul gear through the sand dunes (The video was very DIY. Watch the “Behind the Scenes for Sunlight” on YouTube)

TENLo’s music video for thier single “Midnight” was shot entirely in Downtown NASHVILLE

In 2024 the band is finding success with their song “Take Me To Your Leader” , garnering worldwide attention on all streaming platforms. They continue to work on their live show, while working out details for several new releases coming soon.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a bit of a struggle learning how to perform live as a Duo. We are very excited, open and embrace the concept of utilizing technology more on stage.

Always tough finding new ways to market the group, while writing, producing and recording. At this time, we still have day jobs, so keeping each other accountable has been huge. It’s just like a small business after all, however, it can get murky when so much of the creative is brought in. You have to know when to shut one side off and when they should be working together. This band has been a grind since day one and we love it.

We have had to exercise a great deal of patience, as nothing has come easy in the music industry.

We know the challenges of success that lie within this industry, but it’s a long way to the top… and…. Its happening!

We are not afraid to take risks with our music. No idea for a video, sound or song is off limits. Allowing this same influence to cascade into our personal lives, has made our experiences and journey both enjoyable and unpredictable.

Blending rock with a sort of DJ vibe, brings a live show unlike the others.

We are most proud of chasing our dreams. Conceptualizing a vision and then having the courage to live out that vision, no matter what the cost.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Growing up as musicians at a very young age. Being in bands since we were both 12. Being able to rock out at school at a very young age had its perks!
