Today we’d like to introduce you to Shavaun Martin

Hi Shavaun, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I became passionate in real estate in middle school when my parents relocated our family from New Jersey to Georgia, then Tennessee. I always enjoyed searching for houses with my parents and finding our family homes. My mother and I would spend our weekends viewing houses all the time. When we moved to Murfreesboro, TN in 2004, I attended Blackman High School and focused on all business courses & dance (my lifelong passion). My plan was to go to college for business, continue dancing, and invest in real estate in the future.

After receiving my Human Resource Management and Marketing degree at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, I began my career in HR & Staffing. I gained experience working in various industries such as automotive & retail manufacturing, recruiting firms, and healthcare over the past 10+ years in East and Middle TN. During this time, I also got the opportunity to network and support people from all over.

In 2020, I relocated back home to Middle Tennessee. My husband, Justin Martin (high-school sweetheart), and I got married, purchased our first home, and blended our family. While having the opportunity to work from home I wanted to continue my education, but in another field. I received my Affiliate Broker/REALTOR® license in 2021 and later started my business with Keller Williams.

I’m enjoying serving others and helping them find their future family homes!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It took some months, but once I connected with my first buyer, my business kicked off! Over the past few years, I’ve continued taking courses, learning from mentors, and working with vendors on how I can better serve my clients.

Outside of being an entrepreneur, I am a wife and mom to my 6 bonus children & newborn daughter. I always have faith, share positivity, and thrive when I see myself and family be successful. I’m also a Senior Talent Advisor for a large paint manufacturer, supporting corporate and store hiring needs.

While there may be ebbs and flows in life and the housing market at times, I’ve continued my path to gain and maintain relationships with everyone I come across.

I’m a REALTOR® who is passionate about my community and learning others’ interests and needs; especially when it’s their first time purchasing a home. I’ve earned real-life experience that makes me uniquely suited to serve real estate buyers and sellers in Murfreesboro and surrounding areas.

It’s a joy to see my clients and their families satisfied (with new keys) on Closing Day!

All credit, honor, praise, and glory should go to God first.
I’m very thankful to have a very supportive (Local Barber) husband, Justin, who motivates me daily and provides business advice & referrals. Also, my parents, Dean & Robin Sims for being a great example for myself and my 3 siblings (Patrice Hunter, Jordan Mathers, & Donovan Sims). I also want to give thanks to my extended family who has supported me over the years.
