Today we’d like to introduce you to Ella Eaves
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Ella Eaves, and I’m from a super small town in Arkansas. I am 18 years old and graduated high school in May of 2024.
I’ve always been a creative person, even as a child I was always, drawing, painting or writing. after graduating high school, I wasn’t sure which direction I wanted to go, but I decided a traditional college route wasn’t the path for me right then. I decided to take a gap year, to focus on and pursue my creative passions, which at the time was only my young-adult novel that I am in the process of editing. In June of 2024, my cousin (and co-owner of our business: The Good Grace Collective), Libby Bonner, shared her idea of a Christian t-shirt company, focused on cute and original kids’ designs, with me. Which is how The Good Grace Collective was born. After that, we spent weeks and weeks working hard to make our vision come to life. I primarily use Procreate to hand draw each of our designs, while Libby is the brains behind it all. Of course, there’s always a risk when taking a leap like this, but we believe God has called us to this for a purpose, and we believe He will see it through. We have such amazing family and support that has helped us get to where we are today, and we couldn’t do it without them. We definitely have a long way to go, but we are hopeful and excited to see what the future has in store for us.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not entirely. We’ve had to figure everything out mostly on our own, which definitely takes a learning curve, and some things we are still learning how to navigate. There’s a lot to balance with a small business between two people. Social media, designing, lots of decisions, ordering our merchandise, quality checking each shirt, packing up and sending out…etc. It can be overwhelming at times, but we are so grateful for the opportunity.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
For The Good Grace Collective, I won’t say I do all of the designing, because Libby is awesome with her ideas and graphic design, but I do majority of our designs that are hand drawn. I am not a photographer, but I do take some and edit most of our photos for our website and social media. We pretty equally manage our social media, making sure we’re staying consistent with our posts, and engaging our audience.
If I’m not working on things for TGGC, you can most definitely find me writing, or editing my novel. My novel (title undecided) is something I am so proud of, and hope to publish one day soon.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Being genuine and loving others is what I think has gotten us this far. There are many many similar companies out there, and that is one of the things that I think makes us stand out. We like to be the kind of people that people want to support. We always put our best foot forward when making our products, and put a smile on our faces when dealing with customers.
