Community Highlights: Meet Camri Ferguson of Renew Hair Care

Today we’d like to introduce you to Camri Ferguson

Hi Camri , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Over my 10 years of being a licensed hairstylist I have dealt with hundreds of women dealing with scalp issues, breakage, thinning edges, different types of alopecia, and damage from chemicals such as color or relaxers. The so called protective styles aren’t so protective anymore. This causes SOOO many women to not even want to deal with the salon anymore. WELL I BECAME SAD that many women don’t seek the hair care they need due to embarrassment and unpleasant salon experiences. Outside of being a hairstylist eager to help women in my chair, I wanted to find a solution for women whether at home or in the salon. My name is Camri Ferguson and I am the owner of Renew Hair Care, a hair care salon and product line that I started with a mission to make a difference for women during a time where natural hair has became less of a priority.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting the business in 2017 just 3 months before discovering my first pregnancy, and later navigating through the challenges of COVID-19 while expecting my second son, never made me lose faith. With unwavering determination, prayers, and divine guidance, I overcame personal and business obstacles.

As you know, we’re big fans of Renew Hair Care. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Camri is a silk press master out of Nashville, Tennessee known for her unique and flawless silk press styles. She has over 10 years of experience and owns her salon Renew Hair Care salon. Her unique approach to cater for natural hair has made her an icon in her city. With careful critique and years of practice she launched her healthy hair care line “Renew” established in 2018. Her products have helped thousands of people restore their hair and achieve any hair goals they may have had.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Being consistent, staying professional, being on time, treating clients with care and respect has always been my number one priority. I am religious so I will also always say staying in my bible, prayer and giving thanks to God at all times.
