Rising Stars: Meet Adam Laverdiere of Franklin, TN

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Laverdiere

Hi Adam, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in a small town in Maine. I remember going to bed at night, listening to the sound of my dad’s singing and guitar playing ringing through the house as he practiced, thinking my siblings and I were asleep. I had dreams of writing and singing songs, but I never thought I would.

I think we’ve all lived through seasons of uncertainty where we’ve found ourselves in a place we never imagined we’d be in – that was me a few years ago. I walked through one of the most difficult “seasons” of my life, and when I emerged, I was faced with a deeper realization and understanding that we only have one life to live.

I didn’t want to spend another second building a life that I thought was “fine” or that “checked all the boxes”. I wanted to chase dreams and step into the unknown, figuring things out as I went.

So I moved to Nashville to give music a shot.

I hope that the songs I write find people wherever they’re at and encourage them that they’re going to make it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road certainly hasn’t been smooth, but it was really that struggle that led me to where I am today.

Moving to a new town is a scary thing – especially when you don’t know anyone there. I think I knew a total of three people in Nashville when I made the decision to move here.

I made it my first goal here to find a group of friends, and I’m so grateful I did that. I don’t think I would be able to live out here alone otherwise.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a singer/songwriter, and I primarily do Christian Contemporary and Worship music. (I also love writing country songs.) I’ve had the opportunity to play in baseball stadiums and hockey arenas, as well as Christian music festivals across the States.

I crowdfunded for an album that released back in 2020, titled This Is Revival. I didn’t really have any expectations for it, but it ended up getting over 100k Spotify streams in the first week of its release (Over 850k as of January 2024). I was shocked, but I’m so grateful! That album helped push me forward into deciding I wanted to actually pursue a career in music.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
So many people over the years have believed in me and supported me, I truly don’t know where I would begin in thanking people. The album I mentioned a moment ago was fully crowdfunded by people in my church back home in Maine. There’s no way I would’ve been able to do that without their support.

I feel like making and releasing music is such a collaborative endeavor, and it’s my hope that as things unfold more and more in my career, those following along feel just as much a part of it as I do – like we’re all figuring it out together.
