Today we’d like to introduce you to Makayla Douglas

Hi Makayla, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In high school I struggled with hormonal Acne and hyperpigmentation that was caused from my acne breakouts. I was desperate for a solution I went into deep research to figure out my skin type and what could be causing my acne. From there I found the best solution for my skin and my confidence boost immediately. I knew how it felt to struggle with acne and wanted to help others feel more confident in their skin and teach them ways to help to care of it. I decided to go to Aveda Institute here in Nashville, which grew my love for the beauty industry even further by learning new services like Lash and brow enhancements, facials and body treatments.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey so far has been incredible and I wouldn’t change it for anything. Most of my career I have been located at Cala Salon In Nolensville which has made things smooth sailing thanks to my amazing clientele and the supporting environment we have here.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a licensed Esthetician, that specializes in brows, lash and skincare. My main services are facials that are target skin corrections and relaxation. What makes me proud the most is how my clients leave feeling when they walk out of the door, Relaxed and confident. I strive to always be professional and welcoming. It’s hard being vulnerable with your skin and features. Being vulnerable back to my clients and taking the time to learn their skin and what works best for them goes a long way and I can say that sets me apart from others.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love how friendly and diverse the city of Nashville is! There’s nothing like good southern hospitality and being a good person goes a long way.

The thing I like least about Nashville would be the traffic.
