From picking up the viola in 4th grade to becoming a multi-instrumentalist, proficient in guitar, Hammond organ, and music production, Gareth’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Support is a big one. I have it from the people I work with on a professional level but not necessarily have it from the people in my daily life where the emotional support comes in. A lot of the time I feel like I am alone on an island somewhere. It’s hard to put myself out there when I don’t feel like I have a place to safely land if experience a failure. It’s a challenging road finding the strength.

Health has been a struggle sometimes. With so much of being a singer or instrumentalist relying on your body, a couple things that happened over the last year really had me scared that my abilities would be impaired permanently. Thankfully not!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a learning machine. The other part of my life which really drives me is the automotive sector. Along side music, it’s been a part of my life for over 20 years. I taught myself the knowledge to be an automotive technician. I race cars, I have coached drivers and members of the general public, been a driver on podium winning race teams, and being a top 10 driver myself. Also, I created an automotive repair business from scratch, self teaching the business skills necessary to be successful. I rarely turn down an opportunity to learn something.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
In the next 5-10 years, I see the music industry battling Artificial Intelligence as it tries to encroach on the human art and process of creation. I see multi-genre collaborations increasing and I see indie making a push to carve out a space to be as recognized as big label artists.
