Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Tennison

Hi Sarah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in a small rural town where fitness wasn’t exactly a part of daily life, and there weren’t many role models or resources to inspire a healthy lifestyle. But even though the options were limited, I always had a strong desire to be active and take care of my health. That drive led me change my major while in college from nursing to exercise science. This is when everything clicked. I realized my passion for fitness and wellness and knew I wanted to turn that into a career. I dove into my studies, focusing on health, exercise science, and the human body, and eventually became a certified Medical Exercise Specialist.

After graduating, I spent several years honing my skills in corporate wellness coaching, working with businesses to improve their employees’ health and productivity. That experience was invaluable, but I always had the dream of working more directly with people and helping them achieve their health goals on a personal level. So, I took the leap and started my own remote health coaching business.

With over a decade of experience in the industry, I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of clients, from corporate teams to individuals with specific health challenges. My passion for helping others live healthier, happier lives has only grown over the years. Today, I’m living my dream of being a fitness professional and empowering others to reach their full potential—no matter where they are in the world!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey to where I am today hasn’t been without its challenges. Like many college students, I was working paycheck to paycheck, struggling to make ends meet while paying all of my own bills. I lived in cramped college apartments with roommates, always juggling responsibilities and trying to stay focused on my goals despite the pressure. It wasn’t easy, and there were moments when I doubted myself and wondered if I was on the right path.

On top of that, I faced some personal struggles that tested my resilience. There were times when I found myself in trouble with the law, and I hit a low point that led me to a stint in drug rehab. Those were some of the darkest days of my life, but they were also pivotal. They forced me to take a hard look at myself and recognize that I needed to make a change. I had no formal mentorship or strong support system, and at times, it felt like I was walking the path alone. My parents, though well-meaning, couldn’t always offer the guidance I needed, and I often felt like I was forging my own way without the safety net many others have.

One of the most difficult moments came when I lost my only grandfather just two days before an important final exam in college. He had been a huge influence in my life, and losing him was devastating, and I struggled to stay focused and motivated. But that loss also fueled my determination to keep moving forward, to honor his memory by pushing through the toughest of times.

All of these struggles shaped who I am today—resilient, determined, and fiercely passionate about helping others. They’ve given me a deeper understanding of the challenges people face in their own lives, and they’ve made me more committed to supporting my clients through their own journeys. Every hardship I’ve encountered has been a lesson, and I’ve used those lessons to grow both personally and professionally. My story is a reminder that no matter how difficult things may seem, perseverance and passion can turn adversity into strength.

What sets me apart is my ability to connect with clients on a personal level, offering tailored support that goes beyond typical fitness coaching.
