Life & Work with Qwynn of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Qwynn

Hi Qwynn, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Music has always been my way of connecting—whether it’s with the people I work with in the studio or the crowd at a live show. I’m a Nashville-based singer-songwriter, and while I’ve always dreamed of performing, my journey to music wasn’t always clear.

I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, where I was always frequently in the spotlight while competitive figure skating, in the theater, singing, and dancing. At 18, I moved to LA to dive into film and TV. Though I had some success with indie films, music never let me go. So, in 2022, I packed my bags and headed to Nashville, where I started writing, recording, and bartending on Broadway.

It was here that my sound began to truly evolve. I didn’t want to just write pop songs anymore. I wanted my music to feel deeper, more honest. The songs I’m writing now are the best representation of who I am as an artist.

My debut EP, Never or Now, is the result of that growth. Written and recorded in both Nashville and LA, it’s a mix of my influences and collaborations with some of my favorite musicians, including Sam Price from Lovelytheband and Adam Roth from Grizfolk. Working with such talented people has been a dream come true for me.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The EP captures the changes I’ve been going through—starting fresh twice before I was even 21, first in LA and then in Nashville. “Blame Yourself” is about letting go of toxic people, and “Dead Weight” is all about releasing what’s holding you back so you can move forward. It’s a theme that runs through the whole project: change, growth, and letting go of what no longer serves you.

Moving to a new city and finding real connections isn’t easy, but I think everyone can relate to those moments in life where you have to choose to adapt and let go of the past.

This EP is a huge step for me, and I’m excited for what comes next. I’m all in on the creative side—producing my music and directing my music videos. Outside of music, I’ve also been helping my family with a nonprofit called Connor’s Hope, in honor of my brother Connor, who’s on the autism spectrum.

For me, it’s all about building a community where we can connect. I want my listeners to feel like we’re friends. Whether it’s on stage or in the studio, I want us to experience the music together. I can’t wait to share this new chapter with everyone.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
You can find my music on all streaming platforms, social media, and come catch my next live show!
