Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Rubio
Hi Christopher, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Private football coach that played at UCLA in the 1990s. Injured my back in college and went into teaching at the middle school level. Started Long Snapping camps (guy who snaps the ball to the punter and/or holder) 20 years ago. They boomed and I have had over 1,900 Long Snappers go to college and the NFL. I run camps throughout the country with one of my stops, twice a year, is Nashville.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Building it from scratch with no idea what I was doing made it rough. Plus, the onslaught of social media has helped and hurt over the years.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am know for my camps through RubioLongSnapping.com across the country but more so for my personality at these camps. Once I get a Long Snapper and their parents (who are on the field with me the whole time) to one camp, I know I can get them back for more. I make the camps more about life and building the overall athlete rather than “just” a Long Snapper.
