Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna Griffith
Jenna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I became a military wife at the tender age of 21. For 10 years, I dedicated myself to raising our family and keeping things running smoothly back home so my husband could focus on serving. But when that chapter of my life ended in divorce after an accident and his transition out of the service, I was left feeling empty. I remember thinking, What do I have to show for the past 10 years? Who am I outside of being a military spouse? It was a hard and confusing time.
After my divorce, I met and married another veteran—yes, I definitely have a type! About four years into our relationship, he started a new career as a humanitarian special operator. It’s an incredible role, but it meant he’d be deploying all over the world, leaving me at home to take care of things yet again.
At first, I thought I could handle it, but as his deployments began, old feelings I thought I’d buried came rushing back—loneliness, frustration, and that aching question of “What about me”? It hit me hard. But then, in one of those soul-searching moments, I realized I wasn’t alone. There were so many other spouses like me, carrying the same weight and asking the same questions.
That realization changed everything. I felt this pull—this calling—to step up and do something. I didn’t want anyone else to feel as lost as I had. I wanted to help others like me find their purpose and identity outside of their role as a support system for their spouse. Because we’re more than that. We have our own dreams, our own strengths, and our own stories to tell.
That’s where I am today, turning those hard lessons into something meaningful. I’ve made it my mission to empower other military and first responder spouses to find their purpose, embrace their strength, and create a life that feels fulfilling and authentic—no matter where their journey takes them.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but it’s been such an incredible journey of growth and learning. There have been plenty of bumps along the way—moments of self-doubt, wrestling with limiting beliefs, and even the challenge of getting others to truly understand and believe in the mission behind Service and Soul.
One of the hardest parts has been helping people see just how vital it is to invest in military and first responder spouses. These spouses are often the backbone of their families—the reason their loved ones can go out and serve with such dedication and focus. It’s a mission that’s deeply personal to me, but convincing others of its importance hasn’t always been easy.
I’ve had to remind myself over and over that every “no” is just one step closer to a “yes,” and honestly, that’s been so true. Every challenge has taught me something, and every setback has helped me refine my vision.
What’s amazing is how much this business has grown and evolved. It doesn’t look anything like what I first imagined, but that’s part of what makes it so special. It’s become something even better—something that’s not just about me but about empowering an entire community. And through all the struggles, I’ve been so lucky to have an incredible team around me, cheering me on and helping me stay focused on the bigger picture.
It’s been hard, yes—but also so rewarding. Every step, even the tough ones, has brought me closer to where I’m meant to be.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Service and Soul?
Service and Soul was born out of a need—a gap that’s been overlooked for far too long. While so much effort goes into healing our service members, their spouses often carry a different kind of trauma, one that is rarely acknowledged or addressed. At Service and Soul, we believe that healing isn’t complete until we heal the hero and the spouse. When we do, we create stronger families, and stronger families mean stronger communities.
Through countless conversations with incredible organizations, it’s clear that the work being done for service members is vital and inspiring. But there’s a missing piece: the spouses. These are the people who often put their own dreams and goals on the back burner, taking on the silent, unseen work of keeping the home, children, finances, and everything else running. Their selfless service behind the scenes is what allows their loved ones to serve, yet the weight of that responsibility can be overwhelming.
Military spouses take on the roles of two people, often without the support they need. This can lead to burnout, high stress levels, and a negative impact on their mental health. When the backbone of the military—the spouse—is left unsupported, the entire family feels the strain.
At Service and Soul, we partner with organizations to bridge that gap, offering specialized healing and coaching programs designed to uplift and empower military spouses. These programs don’t just improve mental health; they transform lives. By addressing the unique challenges spouses face, we help foster resilience, confidence, and strength. And when spouses are empowered, entire families thrive.
We offer a range of tailored services, including speaking engagements, group coaching, workshops, and retreats. Our team of expert coaches is trained in areas such as:
Polyvagal Theory (Emotional Ladder)
Attachment Theory
Emotional Freedom Technique
Trauma Recovery
Financial Counseling
Health and Wellness
Managing Anxiety, Fears, and Phobias
Our mission is clear: to support and strengthen this community by partnering with non-profits and corporations that employ and serve military and first responder families. When you invest in the well-being of military spouses, you’re not just making an impact on their mental health—you’re creating lasting, positive change for veteran families as a whole.
Together, we can ensure that every military spouse feels seen, supported, and empowered to thrive, because healing the whole family starts here.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
My vision for the next 5–10 years is rooted in a deep hope: that people all over the world will truly understand the critical need to care for the family as a whole. It would be a dream come true to see more companies and organizations embracing the services we provide—services designed to save marriages, strengthen families, and build lasting legacies.
On a personal level, I imagine a world where military and first responder families feel supported, valued, and whole. Where spouses no longer feel invisible, but instead feel empowered to heal and grow alongside their loved ones. Where families come out stronger, not just surviving the challenges but thriving through them.
From a business perspective, my goal is to become a leader in creating awareness about the importance of addressing the root causes of the struggles these families face. Healing isn’t about quick fixes—it’s about building a strong foundation that can support not just the family today, but for generations to come.
If we can continue to raise awareness, build partnerships, and provide transformational services, I believe we’ll see a ripple effect—stronger families leading to stronger communities and, ultimately, a stronger future. That’s the legacy I hope to create.
