Check Out Anna Berladyn’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Berladyn

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Anna Berladyn. I was born in the city of Vinnytsia in Ukraine. I graduated from Chernivtsi National University, Department of Fine and Decorative Applied Arts. My whole life is connected with creativity. I have experience in working with watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel. I have been painting fabrics for a long time. I participated in exhibitions and had a personal exhibition. With the development of technology, I tried myself in Digital painting and this gave a new impetus to my development. Illustrations, logos, even web design, but my heart forever remains faithful to traditional materials, painting and graphics. In 2019, thanks to my husband (he has a lot of bad tattoos and he suggested that I try myself in this area to cover up his tattoos😅) I went to take courses with a local tattoo artist. In Ukraine, there is a different system of training in the tattoo industry. I had 8 lessons: 2 theoretical, 1 practical on a banana, and 5 works on models. I was very nervous… but my art education and that practical were the main guarantee of my current qualification.

On February 24, 2022, the war began. I left Ukraine in March 2022 with my two sons. The road to the USA was long and quite nerve-wracking. On February 27, 2023,we came here under the U4U program. We are incredibly grateful to the family who acted as our “sponsors” and helped us not to go crazy from new information, culture, rhythm of life, etc. It is thanks to them that my children are now studying in wonderful schools, and I have my own job. Emme ( one of the sponsors)introduced me to So Yeon, the owner of the FineLine Cosmetics & Tattoos studio, and I did not expect her to offer me a job at all. I am grateful to So Yeon for seeing potential in me and after two weeks of working on artificial leather, in early March of the same year my first client came to me. During these two years, I am still building my style, developing and getting incredible pleasure from each project I work on. I love experiments, color and detail. I am infinitely grateful to everyone who has met and supported me on my journey.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There was a lot of challenges
The biggest one is uncertainty. You don’t know what happened tomorrow, you have no “solid ground” underfoot.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I can definitely say that I am an artist. I am not only a tattoo artist, I love working with my hands, I love drawing. One of my hobbies is making jewelry from leather. Currently, my main area of work is tattooing. Due to my extensive experience in various painting techniques and graphics, I can combine different styles and techniques in my tattoo work, find the most effective approach to each project. Tattooing is not only needlework, the main part is developing a beautiful and correct design, which is also a pleasure. I specialize in Fine line and realistic floral tattoos, micro realism. But I love experiments. Always open to new ideas

What are your plans for the future?
After my life changed dramatically in 2022, we try not to plan so as not to be disappointed. We live in the present, maybe tomorrow☺️
