Rising Stars: Meet Danielle Knudson of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Knudson

Hi Danielle, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Danielle Knudson. I am 37 years old and was born and raised in Alberta, Canada. I am a wife, mother, international model, and entrepreneur.

After 10 years of living in New York, I now live in Nashville with my husband Alex, our two children, River Ray, 2, and our daughter Rockie Rose, 4 months, and our two pups, Benny and Myla.

For over 17 years, I have been an international model, working and shooting with some of the biggest brands and magazines worldwide. I am forever grateful for every opportunity and every person I’ve met.

At the beginning of COVID, I met my now husband, who dm’d me and asked me for a virtual coffee date. That turned into an 8-hour FaceTime date, and that day, I knew I had met my soulmate, and then the rest is history.

Once I moved to Nashville, I turned my passion for health and wellness into a business. I got my certification in personal training, pre and postnatal training, and nutrition. My husband and I built and launched my fitness app, Level Up By DK. We poured our heart and soul into it, and I am so proud of what we built! We sold it last year but remain involved.

This past year, my husband and I have been building our newest business, One Creative, a full-service creative agency. onecreative.io

My husband’s background is in music and marketing. He’s in two bands, The Cab and Angels + Kings. He also produces for artists and is a creative director for various brands.

I have never felt more myself than I do now, as a mother of two amazing little humans and working alongside my husband, always creating and making our dreams come true.

My favorite chapter of this beautiful life.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I have said this in everything I have done in life: Some people get to take the elevator, but with everything I’ve ever done, I end up taking the stairs. Nothing in life has been smooth, but that is what helps you grow. Everything happens exactly how and when it’s supposed to happen in your life.

With modeling, I didn’t book my first worldwide campaign until I was 26.

With my app, Level Up, we worked with multiple app developers and had so much to learn, as it was our first time building an app.

Starting our family was not an easy journey, as we struggled with fertility and a miscarriage.

But everything in life happens when it’s supposed to, and no matter how difficult it can be at times, we have to always see the positive and be grateful for the journey to get to where we want and need to be.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am incredibly passionate about everything I set myself out to do and give everything 110%, no matter what.

It started as a child. I was a figure skater and was on the Canadian freestyle ski team. I constantly trained to push myself to be the best.

Modeling has many highs and lows, but my high was booking my first Guess campaign. I shot eight more campaigns after that, and I just shot and was included in Guess’s 40th-anniversary book. As a little girl, I always saw the Guess Store and dreamed of being there one day. Guess is iconic and has a way of making you feel confident and sexy!

Guess asked me to join them in the Gumball 3000. It was the craziest, most incredible experience of my life.

I worked with Victoria’s Secret and Sports Illustrated, shot for Cover Girl and Maybelline, and was lucky enough to shoot for many other magazines as well.

When I decided to build an app, I knew I had to do it the right way, so I spent a year getting my certifications in personal training, pre and postnatal training, and nutrition.

One of my best qualities is giving my all in everything I do, from work to being a mother.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was the biggest tomboy and loved all sports. I was a competitive figure skater and was on the Canadian freestyle ski team. I also loved skateboarding and rock climbing.

As a child, I was also big into helping others. I worked a lot at senior homes and with special needs children.

I’ve always been an animal lover, always trying to save and bring every dog and cat home.
