Check Out Stacey Rhodes’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacey Rhodes

Hi Stacey, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
After graduating from O’More College of Design, now affiliated with Belmont University, I pursued a career in Interior Design which I did for a few years. I started designing jewelry and my passion soon turned to fashion and with a background in interior design, it was an easy and natural transition. I opened my fashion boutique in a very small space that eventually grew into my own stand alone storefront. I carried well-known, exclusive lines as well as cutting edge, emerging designers that I introduced to the community and my customers. My boutique had a loyal following of women, including celebrities, stylists and those looking for the newest fashion. I was also very involved with mentoring young fashion students and designers.
After 18 successful years I made the decision to close my boutique to start a new adventure. Having cultivated many relationships in the creative and business communities I now devote my time pursuing my passion of supporting other creatives, small businesses, nonprofit & charitable organizations, and the new and exciting businesses opening in Nashville, including retail, restaurants, music & entertainment venues, hotels, and so much more. I share my stories on my Instagram and Facebook pages and my website.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My retail business grew organically as I learned about my customers and their interests and needs in fashion. As my business grew I listened to my customers and curated my boutique around what was best for them. I was always looking for new and different lines and kept a staff that catered to my customers. Because I grew my business slowly I really didn’t have any struggles along the way. When I eventually closed my boutique it was a natural transition for me as I continued to be involved in the fashion, art and design community and supporting other businesses.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I think I am well known for my successful boutique and my involvement in the community. I have always loved supporting our creative community and other businesses. Having been a long time small business and retail owner I know the hard work and dedication it takes to build and maintain a successful business. Also, I have enjoyed working with and supporting new designers along with the students struggling with starting out on their own career paths. I am happy that since closing my retail business I can now dedicate myself to supporting other businesses and creatives full time.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I have learned is that relationships are everything. Also being generous with your time and being an active part of your community are vital to me. What you give will come back to you tenfold.
