Hidden Gems: Meet Halee Sprinkle of Czech Yourself Marketing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Halee Sprinkle

Hi Halee, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always believed that true success comes from understanding the needs of your community and using your unique gifts to meet them. Growing up in a MidWest family, community outreach was a way of life for us. I learned early on how fulfilling it is to give back and make meaningful contributions. That mindset stuck with me and guided my career choices.

I spent over a decade in corporate marketing, working with diverse organizations on initiatives like fundraising and outreach, as well as a corporate movie distribution company where I specialized in creative strategy and large-scale promotional campaigns for our regional teams and loyalty programs. While I loved the work, I often felt that something was missing. The fast pace and demands of corporate life left me little time to connect with my roots or fully explore my passion for integrating community impact into my professional life. That realization kept nudging me to do something different.

In October 2017, I took a leap of faith and founded Czech Yourself Marketing. The name is a nod to my childhood in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, specifically a little area called Czech Village. That village holds some of my favorite memories—festivals, bakeries, and a strong sense of community. It also reflects my belief in the power of self-reflection, or “checking yourself,” to make intentional changes and move forward.

Now, I help nonprofits and small businesses modernize their marketing efforts and maximize their resources by focusing on social media marketing through one-on-one consultations, social media management, and group classes. I emphasize the importance of humanizing their social presence to foster genuine connections with their audience. My work is about more than marketing—it’s about empowering organizations to connect with their communities in meaningful ways. This journey has allowed me to blend my passion with my purpose, and I’m excited to keep building on that foundation.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to where I am today has been anything but smooth, but I’ve learned that challenges often pave the way for growth. Transitioning from a corporate career to starting my own business was a major shift. In the corporate world, I had the structure and resources of an established company, but as an entrepreneur, I had to wear multiple hats—marketer, accountant, strategist, and even IT support.

One of the biggest challenges was learning to trust myself and my instincts. In the beginning, I struggled with imposter syndrome and wondered if I had what it took to succeed on my own. I also faced financial uncertainty. Building Czech Yourself Marketing meant stepping out of my comfort zone and taking on the responsibility of creating a steady income for myself.

Another challenge was adapting to the ever-changing landscape of marketing, especially social media. Staying ahead of trends while also helping clients understand the importance of modernizing their strategies was a balancing act. At the same time, I saw the struggle many nonprofits and small businesses face with limited budgets, which pushed me to become more resourceful and creative in finding ways to stretch their marketing dollars.

Through it all, I’ve come to realize that the struggles are part of the journey. They’ve taught me resilience, adaptability, and the value of genuine connection. These lessons have shaped not just my business but also my perspective on life and success.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is seeing people and businesses thrive in ways they didn’t think were possible. Whether it’s a client nailing their first social media campaign, a nonprofit expanding its community impact, or a small business owner rediscovering their passion through creative marketing, those moments light me up.

I also find joy in connecting with others and building relationships. For me, marketing isn’t just about strategy or numbers—it’s about the human stories behind the businesses and the work. Helping others shine and watching them realize their potential fuels my passion every day.

On a more personal level, spending time on the water boating, enjoying colorful adventures, and being around my family, friends and my cats make my heart sparkle. These moments allow me to recharge and reconnect with my creative energy, so I can bring my best self to my work and the people I serve.
