Today we’d like to introduce you to Corinthians Moore
Hi Corinthians, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It all started when my best friend invited me to accompany her to a photoshoot with a photographer named Curt, who later became both a mentor and a friend. At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I decided to join her. While we were on location, Curt casually asked if I wanted to try taking a photo. I was hesitant—mainly because I didn’t want to ruin his equipment and I honestly didn’t know the first thing about photography. But something inside me pushed me to give it a shot, so I did.
I took a photo of my best friend, and to my surprise, it turned out great. Curt was impressed, and so was she. That moment sparked something in me, and I realized how much I enjoyed it. I immediately expressed my interest in learning more about photography, and Curt, seeing my genuine interest, offered to guide me through the process.
Since then, I’ve been learning, practicing, and developing my skills, and photography has become a passion I pursue every day. The mentorship and support I received early on really shaped my journey, and I’m grateful for how far I’ve come and the opportunities I’ve had along the way.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey hasn’t always been smooth. In the beginning, I was fortunate to have friends who allowed me to practice on them, which helped me gain confidence in shooting outdoors with natural light. Once I became comfortable with that, I wanted to challenge myself by transitioning to indoor studio photography. That’s when things became more difficult. I struggled with my lighting setups and camera settings, which created a lot of frustration for me. I found myself constantly reaching out to my mentor, Curt, for advice on how to improve my setups.
While Curt was always supportive, I didn’t want to be overly dependent on him, so I knew I had to figure things out on my own. I took a step back and reminded myself to take it one day at a time. That’s when I turned to YouTube, or what I like to call “YouTube University.” I started watching tutorials from other photographers, breaking down their processes, and learning new techniques. Over time, I was able to apply what I learned and experiment with different camera and lighting settings until I found what worked best for me.
It was a process of trial and error, but it ultimately built my confidence and helped me develop a style and workflow that I’m comfortable with today.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a self-taught portrait photographer, and I specialize in boudoir photography. What I’m most proud of is my ability to bring a client’s vision to life, capturing their unique essence in a way that makes them feel empowered and beautiful. What sets me apart is my focus on creating a comfortable and positive atmosphere during shoots. I work hard to build rapport with my clients, engaging with them through conversation, humor, and encouragement. By making them feel confident and relaxed, I ensure that they not only look their best but also feel their best in front of the camera. Ultimately, I strive to create a memorable experience that leaves them with both stunning images and a boost in self-esteem.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I believe that taking risks is an essential part of growth, both personally and professionally. I take risks regularly, especially in my photography. One example is reaching out to people I’ve never met before, often through social media. I’ll connect with individuals whose work or personality I admire, pitch a photoshoot idea to them, and, after sharing my vision, many are open to collaborating. These risks usually lead to successful shoots, and what’s most rewarding is not just the outcome but the trust we build in the process. Even though we started as strangers, by the end of the shoot, we’ve built a meaningful connection, often turning into lasting friendships. For me, those moments highlight the value of taking risks—stepping outside my comfort zone to create something special while establishing authentic relationships.
