Rising Stars: Meet Patricia Faulkner of Nashville, TN

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Faulkner

Hi Patricia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Patricia. I have been tattooing for over a decade and love many illustrative styles. My style leans toward neotraditional and full color but love to apply myself to what my clients need. I was born in Nashville and I grew up in the country so I have a heavy influence from nature in my artwork. It gives me great purpose to work with others and hear their stories. I pursue several other skills that keep me sane and healthy including landscaping and singing. Between the multiple mediums I explore and the people I get to meet through it all, my interaction with people brings about a colorful world I’m proud to be a part of,

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been an easy path. The road has twisted, plummeted, and crumbled underneath me at times it’s hard to remain sovereign, when sometimes creative groups can be so cliquey and collective-driven. Being tumbled through life and pushing back against judgment on being misunderstood as someone that doesn’t bend to peer pressure or forced pleasantries, I’ve been through it all. I have survived emotional and sexual abuse, being displaced from my home, starvation, dissociation, manipulation and intimidation in the workplace. I’ve come to find that being odd to others is a superpower and even at 31 I am still accepting myself radically for what I couldn’t handle as a teenager.. I deeply believe that I have experienced these things in order to help others integrate lessons from their hardships that I’ve learned from mine. We are mirrors for a reason. Not to blind each other, but to lift the veil that divides us from seeing the truth and lessons hidden in the suffering.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I like to do custom tattoos, paintings, logos, branding development, art direction, photography, styling, vocals, promotion, videography, watercolor painting lessons, interior design, pattern making, graphite pencil realism portraits, graphic design, and poetry. I additionally dream to publish a few books while I’m still here on earth as well. I’m sure I’m leaving a few things out. Haha I like to learn and practice various things because it only enhances my skill set and sharpens my memory!

How do you think about luck?
This is a tricky question because I’m not sure if I believe in luck. I seem to have bad luck when I am misaligned from my higher level of thinking and am focusing on lower frequency goals. When I hold myself to a higher standard and operate from within optimism and wonder and a place of love and calm calculation, I can achieve greater things at a swift rate and dream deeply, because when we aim higher, we simply land higher.
