Meet Laura Lea Chalhoub of p96. STUDIO

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Lea Chalhoub

Hi Laura Lea, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I moved from Sydney, Australia with my husband who’s from there, over 3 years ago with my one Reformer machine and heart to share my faith and fitness. I prayed that year we moved to become a Fit Family of Faith. I just five months ago had my first child at 42. God is good.

So, I started doing private sessions in my home in Westhaven for about 5 months. After posting on my local Facebook group to see if there was any more interest in people trying out Pilates, I found myself booking up to 9 clients a day!

We decided to move to another house within WH and prayed for a White House on a corner on Championship. God doesn’t always answer prayers the way we are hoping but this time He did, exactly. We moved my business to our new home in the above garage studio and added eventually 7 more machines. I had 8 Reformers at my home serving my community in fitness and in faith. Nearly 250 people came through my backyard in two years!

After 2 years in my home studio, I felt the Lord close that door and open another one. We decided to take on a commercial space and I brought in a business partner, Charlton Kelley. She’s been the glue that this business needed, especially while in the middle of it all, I had my first child! We’ve recently moved into that location (1015 Westhaven Blvd suite 100) in November of ‘24. Exciting and terrifying!

Being obedient hasn’t always been my strong suit however being obedient to what God has asked of me has proven to be my most rewarding. I love being the person in someone’s life that encourages them to do hard things.

I am so incredibly grateful for every single person God has put in my path during this journey. He is a good Father.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been unpaved and windy at times. Walking the straight and narrow without disruptions isn’t the path I’ve ever found myself on. There’s been moments in my life, where I wanted to be self pitied about this and then I am reminded that my walk with Christ on whatever path ahead is His plan for me. My crazy path has made me relatable to a vast group of people. I have learned to lean into, tangle with, dissect, and embrace the messy roads in my life, because I know where they all lead, to Him by obedience.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are a fitness and Pilates studio. Our name has dual meaning. One is its location, Pilates off Hwy 96 and the other is its foundation, Psalm 96:1-3, which in sum says go tell all the people that He saves!

We are set apart because as a brand we are looking to help you find your inner athlete! I believe God has given every single person that talent, of athleticism. I truly love being part of someone’s process in finding that part of themselves either again or for the first time! We have very carefully curated a studio with a heart for both men and women to come together and exercise.

For the actual fitness component, we are strength training AND Reformer Pilates. It’s unique. I haven’t seen it elsewhere in the US. And it’s trademarked for that reason.

Our business model is inspired by the desire to see someone fall in love with movement and to stay consistent doing it. Our memberships and programming reflects that goal for our clients.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to keep my eyes on Jesus or else I’m pouring from an empty, worldly cup that is exhausting and temporary. My overflow of Gods love for me, hopefully is part of my clients experience when they come to the studio each time.
