Meet Jenn Mcwhorter of The Prepped Palate

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenn Mcwhorter

Hi Jenn, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In April 2021, while working a full-time job, I started doing meal prep on the side. Cooking had always been a passion of mine, and I thought it would be a great way to make some extra income. I began sharing pictures of the meals I was preparing on Instagram, and it didn’t take long to see the growing demand. By October 2021, the interest and client requests were so high that I decided to take the leap and officially launched my own meal prep company, The Prepped Palate! What started as a one-woman show, has now become a team effort with more cooks in the kitchen. I truly feel like we’re just getting started, and I’m so excited to continue to build this brand and team!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Overall, the journey has been smooth, but when it comes to food, challenges are inevitable. One of my top priorities is maintaining exceptional quality and customization, which becomes more challenging as we scale and expand our client base. Fortunately, consistency and a strong team have been key in overcoming obstacles and ensuring we stay on track.

As you know, we’re big fans of The Prepped Palate. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
The Prepped Palate was born from my love for cooking and serving others. Cooking takes a lot of planning, patience and energy that most people don’t have time for, or simply don’t enjoy. Our services include both meal prep and catering, and we focus on healthy, balanced meals made with high-quality ingredients. We take pride in offering highly-customizable meals that cater to most dietary needs, all delivered right to your door. We’ve had a waitlist for our meal prep services for nearly three years, and we’re truly honored by the demand!

How do you think about luck?
I see 11:11 on the clock at least 4x a week, so I’d have to say I’m pretty darn lucky! But at the same time, I have always been a very driven, type-A person and once I make a decision to do it, there’s no turning back.
