Check Out Jenah Park’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenah Park

Hi Jenah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up playing sports, always identified as an “athlete”, until my senior year of college when I was about to graduate and my swim career was coming to an end. I felt like I did not have any direction, and was not sure what to do next. A friend brought me to a group fitness class, and my eyes were opened. I loved the energy in the room, the sense of community, the endorphins, all of it. I started taking classes almost everyday, and felt a pull to get certified as an instructor. Fast forward to many years later, 5 different group fitness formats, and many participants-turned-friends, I still have the same passion to help others find fun in fitness, and discover new ways to challenge themselves, love the bodies God gave them, and live their best lives.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Introducing a new fitness format to gyms that are already established is difficult, and there were many rejections. Each rejection taught me something, and I was able to grow more in different ways, which I would not have been able to, otherwise. Nashville is a very fitness-heavy city, so it is difficult to convince people to try something new/ outside of their comfort zone, when a lot of people already have a gym/ workout routine that they love.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I teach High Fitness at the Williamson County Indoor Sports Complex. It is a fun, high energy, aerobic-style fitness class that is open to anyone and everyone. This class is music-driven with fun movements that challenge the body, but provide modifications, so anyone can participate! It has been the biggest blessing to be able to bring this format to Nashville and meet so many amazing people along the way. Nothing fires me up more than watching participants challenge themselves and find happiness while working towards the best version of themselves.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
When the Covid-19 crisis began, gyms shut down, and we were no longer able to have classes in person, which opened up the possibility of having classes virtually, which ended up being a blessing in disguise, because we were able to connect with people from all across the country through Zoom classes.
