Hi Ruth, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When I was little I always dreamed of having a gift shoppe like my mom and grandmother did. My. mom helped me bring that dream to reality with Hostess & Home. With the help of family, friends and a great team of women, we opened our brick and mortar after hosting monthly pop ups for a year. I will forever be grateful to the early supporters of Hostess & Home that helped us get where we are today!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Overall it has been a great experience because of the team we have in place and all of the support from family and friends. It is definitely a challenge balancing work and home life, especially having a 3 and 6 year old. Setting boundaries has been helpful but I have a lot of improvement to make in this area. Exploring the marketing side of this business and being creative in that has been a challenge for me. Slowly but surely, I feel like I am getting more comfortable with it.

We are a small gift shoppe in the heart of Green Hills on Bandywood. We have everything you need to host a party or go to a party, as my cousin says! We have a colorful selection of tablecloths, napkins, candlesticks and vases; as well as charming hostess gifts. One of our special offerings is a vast collection of vintage Herend that dates back to the original collection from my mom and grandmother’s gift store, Finders Keepers. We strive to keep our prices affordable so that anyone can come in and find something in their price point and be excited by and confident in their purchase! We try and partner with small brands, in addition to the tried and true gift brands. We are always excited and proud to partner with small, women owned businesses! We want our customers to know they can always find a great gift at an affordable price with us! We work hard to bring unique options to the shoppe and we offer complimentary gift wrap. We try to make it easy to shop online and pick up in store, and we are always thrilled to curate a gift for you!
