Exploring Life & Business with Dawn Marie Morris of The World Class Training Institute, Inc.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dawn Marie Morris

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began my journey as a dance fitness instructor about 9 nine years ago. Having fallen in love with Zumba, but not always happy with the song selection of the instructors, I decided to become a certified instructor. I was certified through the Zumba organization while I lived in Chicago and then continued to teach when I moved to Nashville. A friend of mine is married to one of the managers of the Metropark locations here, and she helped me to get an interview with him. I was hired as a contractor and held classes faithfully at one, then two Metropark locations.

In 2018, I was approached by someone who asked me if I was a personal trainer. I was not. He explained some of the benefits, and I decided to try it. I studied that summer and became certified that year as a National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM) personal trainer. NASM is the most difficult certifying body, and I am pleased that I passed the test the first time!

Having certifications in Zumba and personal training with a love for R&B dancing, I decided to incorporate all of my interests and skills and formulate my own dance fitness class called the DS60. The DS60 is 30 minutes of dance fitness and 30 minutes of strength training for one hour of pure fitness fun! I teach these classes through my business, The World Class Training Institute, Inc, a leadership, professional, and personal development company founded here in Nashville in November, 2019. This year we are celebrating 5 years!

I am so grateful that I am able to meet so many amazing women through dance fitness. We workout, relax, unwind, and get fit together. It is so beautiful, and it gives me life.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been relatively smooth. The biggest challenge is in finding people who take working out as seriously as they take going to work. If people really decided to make working out and keeping their health up as non-negotiable as they do going to work, it would make all of us fitness instructors jobs a lot easier. This is why there are so many penalties for missed classes. Too often, people see working out as an option.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The World Class Training Institute, Inc.?
