Today we’d like to introduce you to Terri McCormick
Hi Terri, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I began making cheesecakes in 2018 and selling them at local festivals and special orders for individuals. In 2022 I had the opportunity to rent a building. After some renovation we opened a cafe that specializes from scratch recipes and decadent cheesecakes.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Owning a cafe is always challenging yet rewarding. From greeting each customer and ensuring their visit is pleasant to constantly keeping the menu evolving and innovative; I wear many hats while at the cafe.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I enjoy expressing myself through creating food that people enjoy and look forward to trying. I love to make food that people remember from their childhood like chocolate gravy and biscuits but I also love introducing a savory dish like shrimp and grits. I want to ensure that my guests receive the best possible experience.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I’ve always enjoyed meeting and talking to new people.
