We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Entrepreneurship comes with both successes and struggles every day, but the speed at which decisions can create meaningful impact—on the people Jason Tartick works with, the people he employees, and the small businesses he supports—has been more fulfilling than any corporate job ever could be. Jason’s company has paid out over 8 figures to creators and small businesses from sourced brand activations.

However, the transition wasn’t without its challenges. In his corporate career, Jason often found himself struggling with self-expression, living the identity of what the company needed him to be and as a result he found himself in a tailspin. Trying to keep up with these pressures led to anxiety, panic attacks, and a complete loss of direction. That experience and intense story telling ultimately inspired him to write *The Restart Roadmap*, a guide to reclaiming control over one’s career and building a path that aligns with true goals and values.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The creator economy is projected to grow at a significant rate year over year, driven by the unparalleled return on investment that social media provides as a marketing channel. While the industry is thriving, there are potential headwinds that could reshape its trajectory. One key risk is the immense power and control that platforms hold—something Jason Tartick witnessed firsthand with TikTok. TikTok has over 150 million United States based users, in 2023 they created 224,000 plus jobs and $24.2 billion in GDP to the US (source: https://www.houseofmarketers.com/economic-impact-tiktok-us-ban-consequences/) The sudden disruption and potential future is still unknown. If a platform with that magnitude can go that quickly it clearly demonstrates the threats to the industry, This dependence on centralized platforms creates volatility for creators and brands alike.

Additionally, in times of economic downturn, marketing budgets are often among the first to be cut, which could impact the industry’s momentum. Since entering the space in 2018, the only major pullback Jason has witnessed was during COVID. However, rather than stalling, the creator economy was amplified as businesses, with fewer options, turned to social media—especially TikTok—to reach consumers. This resilience highlights both the opportunities and uncertainties of an industry that continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace.
