Today we’d like to introduce you to Pamela Lash
Hi Pamela , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Real Estate was not really on my radar growing up. I always wanted to be an attorney and after realizing that path was not for me, I was not really sure what my next steps to a permanent career were. In the middle of figuring that out I met my mentor and still one of my best friends, Kyla Standring, who hired me to be her real estate assistant. Still unsure if this was the path for me I hesitantly got my license and decided to stick with it for a bit. Over time I really grew to love it and knew its what I wanted to do it long term. After 7 years of selling real estate in South Georgia, I said some hard goodbyes, and moved to Nashville. I spent about 4 years trying to find a brokerage that felt like home before going to work with my friend, Savannah Chrisley,as her managing broker. While that was of course perfect, because here I was again working along side one of my best friends, I just knew it was time to make my own way and build something I could pass along to my family one day and that’s how The Elysian Group came to be. When coming up with the name I knew I wanted something that encompassed that happy, family feeling that I wanted to grow with my company. Elysian in a nut shell means happiness. At the time this started that’s exactly where I was in my life, newly engaged (now soon to be married) to my incredible fiancé, Makayla. Starting a company that I had spent years dreaming about and bringing people happiness daily on whatever their real estate dreams might be. I wanted to get in to other avenues other than just selling homes. Real estate development has always been on my radar and I have always had a passion for the airbnb business. Those are two things I’m personally really focusing on now as well as still helping my clients find their dreams homes and growing our team of amazing agents. It was a dream I didn’t know I had 15 years ago when this journey started but today I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all. People truly don’t tell you the hard work, the loneliness, the stress and the all around grit it takes to start. company. As with any good thing in life it takes a lot of hard work, a lot of set backs and a lot of love and support. The real estate journey as a whole has been a smooth successful one overall. The starting a company from the ground up, not so much. I had a vision and plan but nothing ever seems to go to plan. There were so many more long days and tedious tasks than I ever expected. Throughout the first 6 months there was at least 100 times I silently wanted to give up and walk away. However I knew I had already put in too many hours to do so. I also don’t like failing. We are still in the trenches, choosing the right programs, selecting the right agents, support staff, and making the right decisions that affect other people is hard but so rewarding. Building a business also takes so much time away from your friends and family. It takes away any and all time you have for yourself but Makayla, My sister Heather, The Henson family and so many of my friends have been there to push me, support me and pick up the extra weight in the areas of my life that had to be put on hold to start The Elysian Group
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a real estate broker, brokerage owner and an airbnb management company owner. The airbnb market is one of my favorite parts of real estate. I love stocking new units with all the essentials, getting units prepped for guests. I always have a sense of accomplishment when units are finished. Nothing is more satisfying than finding clients there dream homes. I have a gift of not giving up so no matter what a client brings my I won’t stop until I find them exactly what they want even if it means spending weeks calling agents looking for off market properties. I like to think that I go above and beyond for all my clients and provide them with an exceptional level of service in every sector of real estate
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Im not a big podcast person but Big Money Energy, Fear Is Just a Four Letter Word and The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck are some of my go to’s in the books department. They are all full of solid advice for running a business and just day to day life…Apps? my calendar and my email are my top used. I wouldn’t get through the days without them
