Today we’d like to introduce you to Callie Moore
Hi Callie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Growing up in the Midwest with a single mother shaped me into a strong, determined, and adaptable young woman. From an early age, I learned how to navigate challenges and embrace change—a skill that would serve me well in the years to come.
At a young age, I packed up and moved to NYC, chasing my dreams in television, modeling and music. For over 12 years, I hosted programs for ABC, VH1, ESPN, FUSE, MTV, and more. After three years in LA for another show, I made the move to Nashville, TN and got married in 2013. While music initially brought me here, it was building a family that made me stay. Today, I’m a mother to two beautiful girls and a wife to my incredible, renaissance-man husband.
When we first settled in East Nashville, I fell in love with the neighborhood. We raised our daughters in our first little home for seven years until one day, I walked into a dilapidated, 120-year-old house that most people would have overlooked. But I saw the vision—clear as day. Without realizing it at the time, that moment marked the beginning of Moorehaus Designs.
I poured my heart into designing and restoring that home, preserving its historical character while adding a modern, eclectic twist. Every single detail—from the floorboards to the light switches—was chosen with intention. We also expanded the home by 2,200 square feet, making the project both a challenge and a labor of love. By September 2019, the house was finished. But just six months later, disaster struck.
In March 2020, a tornado tore through East Nashville, reducing much of our neighborhood to rubble. As we emerged the next morning, we sobbed at the devastation surrounding us. Though our home had significant damage, it was nothing compared to what many of our neighbors had lost. But in the midst of the wreckage, I saw the true heart of East Nashville—people coming together to help, rebuild, and support one another.
Just nine days later, the world changed again. We were told to stay home for “two weeks” due to COVID, and we all know how that unfolded. The silver lining? People suddenly had time. Time to think, to reimagine their spaces, and to rebuild. One neighbor needed help with their home, then another, then another—and from that moment, Moorehaus Designs never stopped growing.
At Moorehaus, my philosophy is simple: design for yourself, not for resale. You have to live in your home every day, and it should reflect what you love, not just what’s trendy. A house should have a heartbeat, a personality, a soul—and I love helping people bring that to life. Most people know what they love, but they don’t always know how to execute it. That’s where I come in, guiding them step by step to create a well-designed, curated home they can be proud of.
It’s always an honor to work with my next client, who, without fail, becomes a friend by the end of the process. I can’t wait to help you bring your vision to life.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I can’t help but giggle when I hear the words “smooth road,” because my journey has been anything but! Spending over 12 years in NYC will break you in ways you never expected, but it also rebuilds you better every time. I’ve gone from having nothing, to traveling the world, then starting from scratch again, all while holding onto my dreams and grinding every single day. Just when you feel like it’s never going to happen, it does, right before your eyes! It’s been a wild ride, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s to give myself grace and focus on constant growth. There is no such thing as “there.”
Moving to Nashville was another big adjustment. It’s a great city with wonderful people, but having never lived in the South before and with two small babies, I felt a little lost. But my NYC training kicked in: dig deep, hold strong, and trust that you will come out the other side. And I did. Over the years, I’ve realized that finding a strong community, especially in the design world, is essential for growth. I’m incredibly grateful for every single client who has trusted me coming purely through word-of-mouth. I’m in the business of making dreams come true. Their vision, their family, how they live in their home day-to-day, it all matters. Every step of the process should be more exciting than stressful, and my goal is to bring that ease and professionalism to every client I work with.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a free spirit with a deep love for adventure and a disciplined passion for sports. I would spend hours riding my bike for miles, collecting bottles, twigs, and anything else I could find to design elaborate treehouses in my friends’ backyards. The outdoors was my playground—I thrived on exploring, creating, and caring for animals whenever I could.
From an early age, athletics became a huge part of my life. I craved the competitive energy of volleyball, basketball, and track, always pushing myself to be my best. I thrived on teamwork, setting goals, and embracing the hard work and discipline that came with every challenge. The payoff was always worth it, and that mindset has carried with me ever since.
