Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Gill
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
With over 17 years of HR experience across diverse industries, I developed a passion for career development and leadership coaching. In 2020, I launched my private coaching practice, dedicated to empowering individuals on their professional journeys. I also contract with Randstad Enterprise as a Career & Executive Coach and contributed to Cornell University’s coaching initiative for first-year engineering students.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Running my own coaching business has been amazing, but it’s definitely a rollercoaster. For me, it’s not just about getting someone their next job or completely change careers, it’s about helping them figure out how to actually live a good life as well. So, I’m always looking for new ways to coach, keeping up with what’s going on in the current job market and trends. And honestly, there are many great coaches out there. So, I’m focused on showing people why I do what I do, and how my experience actually makes a difference. It’s about letting them see the real results, the kind that make them want to tell their friends or family about me.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an HR professional turned full time career coach and business owner. My main focus as a certified professional coach is to provide hope whether it’s in finding a new job, improving skills, leading well or launching your own business. I love partnering in the creation of a framework that allows each of my clients the space to explore, assess then move forward in their desired direction. I am also launching a new group coaching program for women navigating menopause, specifically in the workplace. This program will be kicking off in April and will be a space to talk through what menopause is at each stage, how to be your best self through the transition and how to successfully work while dealing with the symptoms that may occur.
What I feel sets me apart is that I love being a resource on someone’s journey. Yes, I ask the open ended questions; enabling the client to identify what needs to change, how it needs to change and together plan the steps. But I also love providing tools, guidance and best practices to assist in the discovery phase of one’s career or life journey.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something surprising? Well, honestly, I feel like all of my past experiences has shaped how I work with clients today and will come up in various conversations. From writing and performing music in Nashville back in the 90s, to being a certified travel agent, and then spending a decade at The Salvation Army as their HR Manager and Angel Tree Program Director, where I worked on celebrity-supported events – it’s been quite a ride.
