Today we’d like to introduce you to Bailey Guy
Hi Bailey, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
At 11 years old, I was in the hospital after having scoliosis surgery, and Miss Tennessee came to visit my hospital room. Our conversation made me feel so special- she even let me try on her crown! That moment sparked a hope in me to someday be Miss Tennessee and inspire other kids the way she had inspired me. Because of that goal, I worked harder in school to get better grades, I joined clubs that would help me gain the skills I’d need as Miss Tennessee (interviewing, public speaking, community service, etc), and at an age where most girls’ self confidence plummets, I held my head higher knowing something great was in my future. Now as Miss Music Row and a Miss Tennessee candidate, I teach goal setting skills to children across the state so they’ll experience the same hope in their future and drive to work hard that having this goal gave to me. I developed a five-step goal setting framework through my GPS: Goals + Preparation = Success program, and I share personal development strategies in both my book, Goals in Action, and my podcast, Define Success, which all have a mission to inspire hope in one’s future and encourage viewers to do life a little bigger.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My whole life changed in September 2023 when I lost my dad suddenly to pancreatic cancer just 19 days after he was diagnosed. I was just beginning my senior year of college and felt all my priorities and future plans shift. I came to the quick realization that so many of my life’s biggest moments… my future wedding, children, and milestones beyond age 21, will have to happen without my dad there. While heartbreaking, it also gave me a new reason to live life as big as possible and enjoy the moments we have today. If God is calling on you to do something, do it now with all your heart. Losing my dad so suddenly taught me how precious life is and to never take it for granted.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a motivational speaker, I aim to energize and uplift every person I meet. With many branches of my business- keynote speeches, the book, podcast, and GPS: Goals + Preparation = Success philanthropic efforts, my mission remains the same: inspire audiences to gain clarity on their goals and confidently step into their purpose while restoring hope in their future. I’ve spoken to a wide range of audiences, from kindergarteners, to sorority women, to business professionals, and I’ve found that the message of hope is universal. One of my core beliefs is that every person has a purpose- God doesn’t make mistakes! Discovering and aligning with that purpose is the secret to living a more fulfilled life, and it’s my honor to guide audiences in doing just that. If you know of a group that would benefit from hearing me speak, please contact me on BaileyGuySpeaks.com.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about our city is the creativity all around it! I love being in a place so full of talent and hard work, and it’s humbling to have grown up where so many people have made their dreams come true. My least favorite thing… the traffic!
