Meet Danielle Juhre of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Juhre

Hi Danielle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up with my father in the industry working with artists like Charlie Daniels and Bonnie Raitt. I was the infant in the carseat next to the stage and from there I always knew that music was a part of me. Being an artist was always my “plan a” but I knew how difficult that path was and pursued my “plan b” for almost a decade. I convinced myself that working at a major label was the best career move and even attended Berklee College of Music for a degree in music business and copyright litigation. After college I met my best friend who is now my producer and the songs we effortlessly wrote instantly garnered mass attention and I had to finally admit to myself that this wasn’t just a coincidence. The reaction from the audience during my performances mixed with the reenforcement of my peers and endorsements from some of my musical idols like Timbaland led me to understand that I’m supposed to be an artist and the only person left to believe this was me.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has most certainly not been a smooth road and I’m constantly told “no” on a daily basis. With this said, that’s what makes the great moments in this industry feel so much more rewarding and I wouldn’t change a single struggle. It hasn’t been easy, between never being cast for a single solo or musical my entire high school career, using my last $20 for a release of a song instead of buying groceries, being told I’m “too old” to be an artist, being ghosted days before signing my first deal, and now being stuck in a publishing contract. I won’t give up. I’ll never give up. I’ve been in so many situations where you’d think that giving up would be much easier, but my love for this industry will always surpass the negatives. I never want to be known for my struggles and would rather be someone that works in silence and proved them wrong. I want my journey to be one that motivates other writers, creatives, and artists that are or have been in my similar situation.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a singer/songwriter/artist that specializes in blending catchy pop hook driven songs with deep, thought provoking, and out of the box lyrics. I’m most proud of my voice and my melodies. I’ve spent a long time studying and admiring Ryan Tedder and Max Martin and they are major influences of mine when it comes to my melody writing. I almost always go with the first melody that comes to mind and trust my instincts. I try not to overthink or overanalyze it.
