Rising Stars: Meet Ashley Bourque of Tennessee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Bourque

Hi Ashley, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
i started planning events when i was still in high school actually. I planned our school homecoming, spring formal, prom, etc. It was so fun for me to be both logistically and creatively involved in something. From there, i studied hospitality and tourism management in college, and interned and worked at event companies throughout that time. When i moved to Nashville, i took a small break but still felt the pull to events. I started planning enough freelance on the side, that my now husband nudged me in the direction of starting my own business, and the rest is history!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Are any roads truly smooth? Owning a business in general is a rollercoaster ride — very feast or famine. But, luckily, my family and loved ones have provided stellar emotional support, and I have a great team that works with me. Also, the vendors I’ve met along the way have made this my dream job. As far as struggles go, it’s hard to attain a good work-life balance, especially when you’re wearing all the hats in your professional and personal life. Luckily, I’ve been working on this issue for years, and I think we finally reached a good place where my anxiety doesn’t creep in every time I wait longer than 7 minutes to respond to an email!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I think what sets us apart from others is our passion for building relationships. I feel like i truly know the best fit for my clients and I am so happy to see their faces when things come to fruition for them. We specialize in all kinds of events — from weddings, to awards shows, to after parties, to conferences — we have done it all, and we like it that way! It’s fun to throw something different in the mix and rise to the challenge.

What’s next?
The future is looking bright! I am excited about our upcoming events, and i hope that i can start passing some of our inquiries over to our lead planner. I am looking forward to traveling for some out of town events too!
