Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve been painting on walls as long as I can remember. Started professionally almost 35 years ago, with encouragement from my wife, Mickie. Been at it ever since!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth? Of course not! Tons of obstacles, and tons of paying “stupid tax”. But I have to admit, it’s been a blast.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Murals & More LLC?
I’m an artist. Mickie is the more level headed of our partnership. And as she is apt to constantly remind me, “this is a business!” Yes, we get to have fun, and be creative, and play with paint, but first and foremost, it’s a business! And it needs to be treated as such. We are professional, and we treat our clients accordingly. I feel that our work is outstanding, with great attention to detail. We specialize in what is called “trompe l’oeil”, meaning “to fool the eye”. Whenever we can, I try and incorporate some elements that play with perspective, layering, depth. If anything, I believe that’s what we’re known for. Our murals are found in spaces that are interior, exterior, residential, commercial, basically anywhere! The more difficult and inaccessible, the better! We love a challenge. Decorative finishes, Venetian plasters, hand-painted graphics and signage – like I said, we can do it all.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?

Pricing:

• Pricing is completely subjective. How much is your time worth? How much experience do you have? How long will it take to complete the project? Do you even have any idea as to how long it will take to paint? You could spend an entire day just talking about how to price a project.
