Today we’d like to introduce you to Nabeel Husari

Hi Nabeel, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
“For the past three years, I’ve worked as a floor care technician for local companies. My experience began with a six-month period as a technician’s helper, after which I was given the opportunity to manage my own route and service calls. While I continued to collaborate with crews on larger projects, I also successfully managed my individual assignments. However, I encountered ethical challenges that ultimately led me to seek a new path. I observed unprofessional behavior from other staff members on job sites, including the use of inappropriate language and disrespectful treatment of tenants. This conduct was a source of significant concern for me. While I wasn’t in a position to directly address these issues, I felt I couldn’t condone them by remaining silent.

Driven by a desire to uphold higher professional standards, I decided to pursue IICRC certification – a goal my previous employer didn’t support. After achieving this certification, I chose to establish my own business rather than seek employment elsewhere. My vision was to create a company founded on respect and ethical practices, treating both clients and employees as I would want to be treated. Since launching on September 7, 2023, my company has become accredited by the Better Business Bureau and is an IICRC-certified firm. Personally, I hold seven of the 18 IICRC certifications and aspire to become an IICRC instructor in the future.”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
“Starting a business is rarely a completely smooth journey, and mine has been no exception. While we’ve achieved significant milestones in a short period, like BBB accreditation and IICRC firm certification, we’ve also faced some challenges. One of the initial hurdles was building a client base from the ground up. Establishing trust and demonstrating the value of our services in a competitive market required consistent effort in marketing and networking. I dedicated a lot of time to building relationships with property managers, real estate agents, and other potential clients.

Another challenge was managing the financial aspects of a new business. Balancing expenses, reinvesting profits for growth, and ensuring consistent cash flow required careful planning and budgeting. There were times when resources were tight, and I had to make strategic decisions about prioritizing expenditures. Finding reliable and skilled technicians also presented a challenge. I’m committed to maintaining the high standards of service I envision for my company, so finding individuals who share my dedication to quality and ethical conduct is crucial. It takes time and effort to recruit, train, and retain the right people.

Finally, as a small business owner, I wear many hats. From performing the technical work to managing administrative tasks, marketing, and customer service, the workload can be demanding. Learning to delegate effectively and prioritize tasks has been essential to managing my time and preventing burnout. Despite these challenges, I’m incredibly passionate about my business and the services we provide. Overcoming these obstacles has only made me more resilient and determined to succeed.”

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am, like a plethora of people in Nashville, a musician. I play multiple instruments and enjoy it more than any of my other hobbies. My main instrument right now is the banjo, but I also play guitar, keyboard and mandolin.
