Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott & Kim Crosbie.
Hi Scott & Kim, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
We have owned a number of small businesses over the years, and about three years ago, we decided to step away and embrace early retirement. Our plan was to live at the beach, travel, and spend a lot of time boating. We even moved onto our boat and traveled the East Coast, with the goal of completing the Great Loop—a 6,000-mile waterway journey through the East Coast, Great Lakes, and down the Mississippi River, a trip that typically takes over a year to complete. While we still plan to complete it at some point, we realized how much we missed the interaction with our clients and our employees and as much as we loved the adventure, we weren’t quite ready to slow down completely.
At the same time, Scott’s personal health journey was becoming an even greater focus. About ten years ago, Scott’s mom developed dementia/Alzheimer’s, and he had a moment where he looked at himself and thought, “how do I stop that from being me in 23 years?” That question set us on a mission to understand longevity and brain health. We explored countless treatments for Scott’s mom, but what became painfully clear was that you don’t want to wait until it’s too late—early prevention is key, and in many cases, metabolic diseases can be reversed if caught early enough. That realization fueled my passion for health optimization and led us to Next Health.
Next Health was the perfect fit for us, combining the best, highest-end technologies in one place—biomarker testing, functional medicine, and longevity-focused treatments—all designed to help people take control of their health before problems arise. Our goal is to empower people with the tools and knowledge to optimize their health, extend their lifespan, and truly thrive.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The hardest part so far was finding available real estate to meet our needs. Our criteria was finding high end retail space with the proper demographic reach. It was surprising how few places were available to meet our needs.
Finding the right talent is another area that began as a challenge. Because we were very particular about who we wanted to hire, we went through a very time consuming employment process. Luckily, it paid off. After hundreds of interviews and lots of logged hours, we found some amazing team members to help us on this journey.
As you know, we’re big fans of Next Health Nashville – The Gulch. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
After spending about 10 years in the corporate and consulting world—traveling all over the globe—Scott realized it was time to find something different, something that allowed him to be more present with their family and build something of his own. So, we made the bold decision to become small business owners.
Over the past 20 years, we’ve started, bought, grown, and successfully exited four different businesses, each one teaching us valuable lessons about leadership, innovation, and resilience. Some businesses we built from the ground up, scaling them into thriving operations before selling, while others we acquired and improved before exiting at the right time. That entrepreneurial journey ultimately led us to our fifth and most passion-driven venture: Next Health.
Our vision is to establish a strong presence in the wellness and longevity space, starting with four Next Health locations in Nashville and three in Charlotte. Our first location in The Gulch is already up and running, and we are currently in the development phase for our second location in Green Hills, which we plan to open in October. Over the next two years, we aim to expand into Franklin and Brentwood, bringing advanced health optimization to even more people in the region.
We are beyond excited to continue growing this business, helping people take control of their health, and making cutting-edge wellness accessible to all of Nashville.
How do you think about luck?
Luck is always a factor, but I believe it favors those who are prepared and willing to take action. In business and life, we have certainly had moments of good fortune—being in the right place at the right time, meeting the right people, or discovering an opportunity that aligned perfectly with our mission. But we’ve also faced challenges that, at the time, felt like bad luck. In hindsight, those tough moments were actually the ones that shaped us the most, forcing us to grow, adapt, and build resilience. Ultimately, we think luck opens doors, but it’s up to us to walk through them and make the most of the opportunities that come our way.
We definitely think it was lucky that we found the perfect partner in Next Health.
