Daily Inspiration: Meet Patrick Wallen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrick Wallen.

Hi Patrick, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Locals Only Nashville Passport started as an idea to bring people together and enhance the local bar scene by offering incredible deals like $1 drinks at a variety of bars throughout Nashville. Created by myself and Caleb, we wanted to turn a simple night out into an adventure and an opportunity to discover new favorite spots while supporting local businesses.

Our journey began with a vision to make exploring Nashville’s nightlife both affordable and thrilling. We carefully curated a selection of bars that not only offer great atmospheres but also embody the spirit of Nashville. This way, locals and visitors alike could enjoy the city’s vibrant bar scene without breaking the bank.

The response has been overwhelmingly positive, with many patrons appreciating the simplicity and value of the passport. It’s more than just a ticket to cheaper drinks; it’s a way to connect with the community and create lasting memories. As we look to the future, we continue to expand our partnerships and enhance our offerings, ensuring that every passport holder gets the most out of their experience in Music City.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
While the journey with Locals Only Nashville Passport has been rewarding, it hasn’t been without its challenges. One of the major hurdles we faced was building trust with local bars and restaurants. Convincing bars to join our program required a lot of sweat and effort.

Another struggle was related to logistics and managing the operational aspects of the passport system. Ensuring that all participating bars were adequately trained on how to handle the passport program is an ongoing effort; so, we encourage our customers to have an open mind.

As the popularity of the passport grew, so did the need for a robust system to track usage and feedback to continuously improve the service. Implementing technology solutions that could handle this growth without losing the personal touch that characterized our early days was a delicate balance to strike.

Despite these obstacles, the positive feedback from the community and the visible impact on local businesses have made the journey worthwhile. We’ve learned a lot along the way, and each challenge has only strengthened our resolve to make the Locals Only Nashville Passport a staple of the Nashville nightlife experience.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Locals Only Nashville Passport, our work revolves around enhancing the nightlife and community spirit of Nashville by offering an innovative passport that provides access to $1 drinks (and BOGO) at various local bars.

We create a tangible connection between Nashville’s vibrant bar scene and those looking to explore it in an affordable and engaging way. What sets us apart is our dedication to supporting local businesses while providing an unmatched value proposition to our customers. We not only offer discounts but also foster a community spirit by encouraging exploration and new experiences. We were inspired by the Nudge app, and we wanted to make an analog version of that focussed on bars and restaurants.

What I am most proud of is the impact we have on our community. Through our partnerships with local bars, we not only drive additional business to them but also help in promoting the local culture and economy. This not only assists in sustaining the local businesses but also in keeping the cultural fabric of Nashville lively and vibrant.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me in both my professional and personal life is the pursuit of growth through trying new things. This ethos is at the core of Locals Only Nashville Passport, where we continually strive to offer new experiences not just to our customers, but also within our team.
