Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Booth.
Hi Brian, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
**Brian “Biggz” Booth** — born May 2, 1988, in Baltimore, Maryland — is a seasoned audio engineer, mastering specialist, and entrepreneur whose journey is rooted in both passion and perseverance. His creative spark lit early; at just 7 years old, he won the “Best Drawing Award” from the Maryland Institute of Art, hinting at the visionary path ahead.
At 12, Biggz relocated to Virginia Beach, VA, where his musical journey truly took flight. He founded the rap group *The Street Team*, handling production and sound design with a natural flair. Their momentum led to a record deal with Hood Platinum Record Label and a tour alongside heavyweights like Jim Jones, Big Country Kanx, Mulage, and OJ Da Juiceman.
Determined to master his craft, Biggz dove deep into the art of Audio Engineering and the business behind the music. Under the mentorship of Hip Hop pioneers Double XL and CEO P, he launched *Major Movement*, signing his own group members and building a foundation for long-term success. After a strong five-year run, he expanded his impact by founding *Black Vinyl Recordings* — a Virginia Beach studio that welcomed stars such as Gucci Mane, Rick Ross, Lil Boosie, Earthgang, and Moneybagg Yo.
His hustle paid off. Biggz landed a full-time engineering position at *Thomas Crown Recording Studios*, working under none other than super-producer Timbaland. At 25, his passion for the mic reignited, leading to the formation of *World Order* — a rap group that shared stages with Trae da Truth, Little Debbie, Stylez P, Slaughterhouse, Ginuwine, King Los, Twista, Mystikal, Scarface, Kirko Bangz, Stitches, and Slim Jesus.
Today, Biggz runs *Prime Records* out of *DNA Recording Studio* in Virginia Beach. More than a name, Prime represents the high-caliber quality he delivers in every session. His work with EarthGang and J.I.D. in May 2020 earned spotlight recognition from BeatStars and evolved into a publishing venture with SONY/ATV.
But Biggz isn’t just building his brand — he’s building a legacy. As a producer-engineer and mentor, he’s dedicated to empowering emerging artists and expanding Prime Records through ventures that blend art, tech, and business. With every mix, master, and move, Biggz is shaping the future of sound.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — and that’s what makes Biggz’s story so powerful.
From the beginning, he had to fight for every opportunity. Coming up without a silver spoon meant juggling multiple jobs just to fund studio time, equipment, and touring. In the early days, there were moments when passion was all he had — no big budgets, no team, just hunger and hustle.
Breaking into the industry as both an artist and engineer came with its own set of challenges. There were times when deals fell through, group members walked away, or politics in the music business made growth harder than it needed to be. Building Black Vinyl Recordings from the ground up meant sleepless nights, failed sessions, and learning the hard way what it really takes to run a professional studio.
Even after landing a spot at Thomas Crown Studios, nothing was handed to him. Biggz had to constantly prove himself — balancing his role as an engineer with his dream of still being an artist, all while staying ahead of fast-changing trends in sound and technology.
But through every setback, Biggz kept building. Every struggle became a stepping stone — teaching resilience, sharpening his skills, and deepening his commitment to creating spaces for other artists to win too.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a producer, mixing & mastering engineer, and studio owner — but at the core, I’m a storyteller through sound. I specialize in crafting records that feel right — sonically rich, emotionally charged, and built to last. Whether I’m behind the board or helping an artist find their voice, it’s all about elevating the music to its highest potential.
I’m known for my engineering precision, my ear for detail, and my ability to bring out the best in any artist, whether it’s a raw up-and-comer or a seasoned name. My background as both an artist and an engineer gives me a unique edge — I understand how music should feel as much as how it should sound.
What I’m most proud of is the journey — building Black Vinyl Recordings and later Prime Records from the ground up, creating spaces that have hosted legends like Rick Ross, Earthgang, Gucci Mane, and J.I.D., while still being a launchpad for new voices. One of the biggest highlights was my work with Earthgang and J.I.D. that caught the attention of BeatStars and led to a publishing venture with SONY/ATV.
But what really sets me apart? It’s the care. I don’t just engineer — I invest. I treat every project like it’s my own, whether it’s a radio-ready hit or a late-night freestyle. I merge industry-level sound quality with independent artist energy, always pushing for growth — for myself, and for the artists I work with.
At the end of the day, I’m here to create impact — one mix, one master, one moment at a time.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Working with me is simple — it starts with a real connection.
Artists, producers, labels — if you’re serious about your sound and ready to level up, I’m here for it.
You can book sessions at ThisisBiggz Productions LLC inside Elevated Sounds and Visuals Studio in Virginia Beach, VA, whether it’s recording, mixing, mastering, or full production. I also work remotely with artists and clients worldwide — just send over your stems, and we’ll lock in.
For collaborations, I’m always open to building with like-minded creatives who bring authenticity, passion, and a strong work ethic. Whether it’s co-producing, developing a project, or strategizing releases, I love being part of something bigger than just one track.
If you’re looking to support — follow, share, or stream the music I touch, and tap in on social. Word of mouth and real relationships keep this movement growing. You can also support the vision by working with Prime Records for your next project or even investing in future ventures tied to audio, education, or artist development.
Let’s work. Let’s build. Let’s make something timeless.
