Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina James.
Sabrina, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve been making jewelry for over 12 years, but doing it as my full time job (along with mom life) since 2019. After making the transition from side hustle to full time work from home job, I recently made the transition into having a space outside the house, and I am loving it! Along with my ready to wear jewelry, I also offer permanent jewelry services now! So having a space people can visit to shop or get linked up has been perfect!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being a one woman show definitely has its challenges, but I truly love what I do and the freedom it allows as a mom! Transitioning from jewelry maker to bookkeeper, photographer to shipping manger, and social media manager to customer service rep, can be exhausting for sure! But I have the best tribe of customers, so they keep me going and keep me inspired to keep creating and wearing all the hats.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
One thing I’m most proud of in my entrepreneurial journey is my drive and commitment to keep going! Between a busy mom life and overwhelmed adhd brain, being a solopreneur can be daunting, but I’m proud of myself for always pushing through the tough moments. It is easy to quit when things get mundane or stressful, but I’ve learned that those moments are inevitable and there is always fresh inspiration and motivation to grow on then there side of those lows!
As far as jewelry specifics go, my favorite things about the brand I’ve created are the fact that it’s perfect for those of us with sensitive ears and skin! I hated having to forgo a cute pair of earrings because they made my ears hurt, so I love being a place that anyone can shop for pretty pieces even if they’re extra sensitive. I also love the variety I offer from simple everyday pieces to colorful statement styles because aside from needing jewelry for different occasions, sometimes you need something fun to boost your mood too!
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love Nashville! It’s a fun city that’s full of life and has music on every corner no matter what day of the week. Being outside the city in Gallatin is the perfect mix for me! Close enough to enjoy the fun Nashville has to offer, but nestled away in the beautiful country with gorgeous views. Gallatin is a growing city too and I love all that it has to offer these days! I’m glad I get to have a little part of it with my jewelry’s studio at The BLVD now too.
The one thing I don’t love about this area is the weather. If you know, you know. We could get snow, sun, torrential downpours, and tornados all in the span of one week.
