Daily Inspiration: Meet Hush Money

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hush Money.

Hi Hush, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hush Money is a 4 piece southern rock band based out of the southern Appalachian. Our roots are planted firmly in just that. We we’re just a bunch of broke College kids who wanted to make music and found each other. We have become family since then. Litterally and figuratively. The band is made up of Greg Weaver(Drummer/vocal), his brother Seth Weaver(guitar/vocal), their cousin Nathaniel Newberry(Bass) and lead guitar player Caleb Logan(Lead guitar/vocals).

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Is it ever a smooth road for a rock band this day in age? Lol
We have definitely had our bumps in the road. It’s been a consistent up and down. We’ve delt with shady venues, broke down vehicles, fighting the uphill battle of playing original music in a world that just wants another Skynyrd song played. I don’t want it to sound like we’re complaining, we love every minute of what we do. But, like anything it has its struggles.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We are a southern rock band. We try to make real music for real people. We try to stay away from mainstream sounds. We try to make a sound of our own. I feel like that’s one of the things that sets us apart. We are a group of musicians that appreciate those that came before us, but don’t strive to be those people. We just want to make music we love and would listen to. We like to make art in our music. We want it to mean something after we’ve left the world.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Music. Plain and simple. Nothing picks you up or levels you out like the perfect song. There is a song for every emotion you feel in life. It’s the universal language.
