Check Out Adrienne Myers’ Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Myers.

Hi Adrienne, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I spent my youth loving animals and working at any vet clinic, animal shelter, or zoo that would take me. That led me to getting my bachelor’s degree in animal science and beginning my professional career in animal agriculture, working for a large poultry producer. I enjoyed helping farmers provide for their families, but it was very difficult emotionally for me being the animal lover I am. I started looking for an escape, and I found it in the theory of makeup. It was the first time as a lifelong STEM girl that I felt like I was a creative. My career was thriving but I spent my nights and weekends cultivating this art that was bringing me joy. Any friend or family member I could hold down long enough was now my practice subject. I did this for seven years, until I felt like God was calling me to something new. That brought me to a new career field and a new home in Nashville. Along the way I had so many friends and family encouraging me to step out and take the leap of having my own bridal makeup business. God blessed me in so many ways to make my dream a reality. I had no idea how to do it, I just knew I was going to do it. I went and got my certification and just put one foot in front of the other in creating Adrienne Dawn Artistry. I love working with my brides, to be part of making their big day beauty dreams a reality is such a blessing. To be trusted by them to do that for them is not lost on me. I hope to continue to grow and that every woman that sits in my chair knows they are in good hands.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I wouldn’t say that the road has been smooth but standing on the other side I can see the ways God made a way for me. I think my biggest obstacle was myself. For so long I feared failing and that left in a state of paralysis. I felt I wasn’t qualified to be in the room, but I came to the point of understanding that anyone that has ever started pursuing their dreams, wasn’t “qualified” at some point. I just had to do my part and trust for the rest. If I failed that was okay, at least I tried and if it goes well even better.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a bridal makeup artist. I specialize in luxury soft glam aesthetic. I’m honestly just proud to be here. Proud that I’ve been able to cultivate an environment of trust and kindness for the woman I come across. My sanitation practices set me apart. It may sound like a standard you should expect from all artists, but I’ve come to learn it isn’t. All my clients can expect that I take that very seriously. There are no concerns of the walking away with pink eye or something.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My mom and my friend Brooke deserve so much credit for helping me get here. They have sat in my chair as practice faces more times than I can count. Brooke was there from the very beginning when I was still pretty rough. She would sit for a full face then wipe it off and go again. I don’t think I would have built up the confidence in my skill set if it wasn’t for their voices in my ear.
