Community Highlights: Meet Tanner Haas of Freedom Chat Inc.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanner Haas

Hi Tanner , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up in Colorado and, for all intents and purposes, am self-educated. I didn’t really go to college. Since I was 17, for the past nine years, I’ve made it a point to read at least 2-3 books a week, every week. All that reading really adds up. My wife would probably call me a ‘competitive reader.’ I try to read as much as I can, as quickly as I can, while retaining as much as possible. Anyway, I digress.

When I was 19, I founded my first company, Fitore Nutrition, and wrote my first book, Art of the Goal.

You could say I didn’t really know what I was doing when I started, but I was determined to take that first step toward success.

Shortly after Art of the Goal was published and sales began to pick up, I made the decision to move to Miami and incorporate Fitore Nutrition.

It was a huge change, but the best and most accomplished entrepreneurs I’ve read about did their best work when their backs were up against the wall and they didn’t give themselves a way out. As Tony Robbins says, ‘If you want to take the island, burn your f’ing boats.’

Long story short, Fitore Nutrition was a struggle. It wasn’t easy and turned out to be much more difficult than I’d anticipated.

There were plenty of times I screamed out of frustration, cried, and felt like a failure. But I’d say the one thing I had going for me—something anyone can develop—is persistence. I don’t quit. It’s just not an option for me. And it’s amazing what anyone could accomplish if they just worked a little harder, a little longer, and didn’t quit. It’s okay to change your route, tweak what you do, but don’t change your destination.

To supplement my income (since there was none), I drove Uber on the side. And since my power was turned off, I lived off my own protein powder (I took “eating your profits” to a new level), raw eggs, and the occasional cans of tuna from CVS down the street.

I really believe that when you start something—whether it’s a book, a workout routine, or a company—you’re going to be tested more than you bargained for. It’s all part of seeing how bad you really want what you say you want.

Two and a half years after starting Fitore Nutrition, it was sold to a biotechnology company, giving me my first successful exit. I had just turned 22 and had written my second and third books at 20 and 21.

Not long after that, my wife and I started an online autism test powered by AI to help the underserved autism community. Fitore Nutrition had the number two best-selling supplement for autism, called Spectrum+, and we learned quite a bit from attending fairs, conferences, and developing marketing collateral.

The online test, called ‘Reveal,’ was a tremendous success, generating over 16,000 submissions in 6 weeks—until it was shut down for regulatory reasons. It’s a shame because it was helping individuals on the spectrum better understand themselves, their needs, and the appropriate actions to take. The 36-question test was formulated by a licensed therapist, but we just couldn’t get past the regulatory hurdles.

After Reveal, I started a marketing and SEO (search engine optimization) company called Zeke SEO, using the skills I’d learned from running Fitore Nutrition. That was a tremendous success; we had both publicly traded and privately held companies as clients, with customer satisfaction near 98%.

Amazingly, Zeke SEO’s very first client, Manifest Pharmacy, was co-founded by the same individual I had picked up as an Uber driver in a very nice neighborhood in Miami nearly four years earlier. It’s incredible how life works out sometimes. He decided to give me a call out of the blue to run his idea by me, and when he asked if I could help them develop a website, I, of course, accepted. One thing led to another, and they became our client from inception until they were sold less than nine months later.

Fortunately, I experienced a few very unsettling privacy incidents firsthand, which prompted me to start what is now my primary focus—and by far the most exciting company I’ve started: Freedom Chat.

Freedom Chat is a private social messaging app created to give everyone control over their digital lives. In this new world, you can communicate with whomever you want, protect your data, avoid having your conversations “leaked,” and safeguard against cybercrime. Data privacy and security concerns are on the rise, while trust is declining. In fact:

• Cyberattacks have increased by 92% in the past year alone
• Over 90% of users disapprove of selling user data
• 50% believe their texts can be read by third parties

With our end-to-end encryption—soon to be quantum-safe encryption—no storage of messages on our servers, and absolutely no commercial use of user data, we are allowing individuals around the world to communicate safely and securely with friends, family, and associates once again. We’re giving people their privacy back with the same sense of security as the spoken word.

Today, I’m 26, having started four companies, written three books, and serving as the CEO of Freedom Chat—a company that I firmly believe, by 2030, can have between 50 and 250 million monthly active users and be one of the leading private messaging apps—not just for conservatives, but for anyone who values freedom, privacy, and security. I’m a husband and a now a dad, and I couldn’t be more excited for what the future holds—not just professionally or financially, but personally. With the wife I have and the family we’re building, I am beyond blessed and incredibly thankful. All I can say is, God is good.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been anything but a smooth road, and that’s the problem. Too many people today believe it’s supposed to be easy. That’s wrong. It’s supposed to be difficult. It’s supposed to test you and break you down. If it were easy, everyone would have what they want, and life would be perfect. It’s going to be, and has certainly been for me, more difficult than you could ever imagine, but it will also be more rewarding and help you develop into the person you want to become. That’s the biggest thing. It’s not the result. It’s who you become in the process that matters.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Freedom Chat Inc. ?
As I briefly mentioned above, Freedom Chat is a private social messaging app created to give everyone control over their digital lives. In this new world, you can communicate with whomever you want, protect your data, avoid having your conversations “leaked,” and safeguard against cybercrime.

Our business model, app architecture, values, security, and user-friendly features really set us apart from any other messaging app out there.

I’m incredibly proud of what our team has accomplished thus far and know we’re just getting started.

If you’re one of the billions of users concerned about your privacy—or lack thereof—Freedom Chat is the app for you.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I’m a pretty open book—what you see is what you get. But for me personally, what some people may not know is that I have a great interest in politics and policy, and I have a goal to run for President in 2040, once I’m eligible and have accomplished a few things beforehand. I view what I’m doing now with Freedom Chat, and the healthcare company I will start after Freedom Chat, as a way to build my resume and address critical needs in the world before attempting to do what would be the most impactful thing I could ever do.
