Daily Inspiration: Meet Ana Rodriguez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ana Rodriguez.

Hi Ana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It started with being interested in coffee culture. It’s funny, I remember a time daydreaming of being a shop owner, and a time when I said “I never want to be one of those people dependent on coffee.”
I suppose the two opposite feelings attracted, married and are now one.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not. In fact, there are days when I ask, “why bother?” And there are days when I feel like I’m living outside of my body, in an actual dream. Our first location almost closed twice in a matter of months, and the third time the possibility of closing arose, it actually happened. But as many blessings happen, it felt like a curse only momentarily. Now, our new space is bigger and brighter with more windows and plants. I thank my mom, my husband and my in laws for helping me with this transition.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I don’t know that anything in particular makes us stand out to be truthful. But if I had to pick, it’s just being authentic. We truly are growing organically. We try to have as much organic, quality and local ingredients included as much as possible, but given limiting circumstances, I like to joke that if Panera and Starbucks had a vibey baby, it would be us.
We’d love to have more locally derived products integrated into our menu, but it gets sticky as most of our menu items have to be pre-cooked before we can do anything with it. So we make magic with deliciously curated and thoughtfully developed flavors.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Like I said, we’d love to collaborate with bakeries or farms that can meet us at our wholesale price point. I believe keeping the economy circulating locally is important, as well as just knowing the quality is significantly better in general. We’d also love to collaborate with more local artists. We’re happy to carry local beef tallow, honey, coffee beans and mushroom coffee right now.
