Today we’d like to introduce you to Luke Gerzon.
Hi Luke, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in Denver, but around age 8, my family moved to a small town in the Mississippi Delta called Cleveland. It was a big culture shock, but it gave me a unique perspective and helped me learn how to connect with all kinds of people.
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial mindset—starting a car detailing business and an e-commerce store while still in high school. I went on to study business and finance at Rhodes College in Memphis, graduating with a 3.8 GPA and competing at the national level in the 100m dash.
While still in college, I earned my real estate license because I’ve always been fascinated by the industry—from architecture and design to investing and flipping homes. After graduating, I moved to Nashville and worked in commercial real estate as a valuation analyst, learning the ins and outs of multifamily properties and how to evaluate deals.
From there, I transitioned into corporate finance at an architecture and engineering firm, where I handled FP&A—working on forecasting, profitability analysis, billing, and more. While those roles taught me a lot, I realized I wasn’t built for a traditional desk job. My entrepreneurial drive kept pushing me toward something more.
So, I went all-in on real estate and started building my business on my own terms. I take a modern, creative approach—leveraging social media, paid ads, geotargeting, events, and strong business relationships to grow my reach and help my clients. I’m constantly learning more about digital marketing and social media to keep growing and stay ahead of the curve.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all—it’s definitely been a winding road. I’ve always wrestled with the internal battle between wanting stability and being on a “safe” trajectory, and knowing deep down that I didn’t vibe with the traditional 9-to-5 path. I just couldn’t shake that feeling.
Even now, the journey isn’t easy. I’m building a business from the ground up, and every day brings new challenges to overcome. Real estate is a 100% commission-based industry, and that comes with a lot of pressure. You often see the success stories—the agents who’ve made it—but what you don’t see is the 90% who never do. That reality keeps me grounded and motivates me to keep pushing, learning, and staying creative in how I grow.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a residential real estate agent, and while I’m open to helping anyone, my background in finance tends to attract clients who care about making smart, sound investments—not just emotional purchases. That said, I welcome both approaches, and I always tailor my guidance based on each person’s goals.
People who know me would describe me as resourceful, innovative, and forward-thinking. When I’m faced with a challenge—no matter what it is—I don’t stop until I find a solution. I’m constantly looking for creative ways to help my clients succeed, whether that means using modern marketing tools, digging deep into data, or finding off-market opportunities.
What sets me apart is my commitment to truly listening. I’m not here to sell people on anything—they’re the ones in the driver’s seat. My job is to guide them, protect their interests, and put them in the best position possible. At the end of the day, it’s not about me—it’s about them.
What’s next?
I’m a serial entrepreneur at heart, so my long-term vision goes beyond just being a successful agent. Eventually, I want to build my own full-fledged brokerage or use the earnings I’ve made to start developing properties myself. That’s always been the end goal—taking what I’ve learned and earned, and putting it into creative real estate projects that offer real value to people.
There’s a lot of work to do to get there, but that’s the exciting part. I’m looking forward to growing, learning, and building something that reflects both my vision and passion for real estate.
