Today we’d like to introduce you to Ellie Millwaters.
Hi Ellie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always loved creating content, especially when it’s fueled by passion and love. I’ve also always been someone who enjoys Elvis Presley’s music. One day, I decided to head to the movie theatre to watch the 2022 Elvis movie, and after seeing it, I felt a shift. I wanted to learn more about who Elvis Presley was… his story, his life, his legacy.
I needed a place to share this growing passion, so I created my social media accounts focused on Elvis: his history, his music, and everything in between. I began sharing from the heart, posting the new knowledge I was discovering. As I shared more, my platform began to grow, allowing me to connect with a wide audience who shared the same curiosity and love for Elvis.
That journey naturally evolved into meaningful collaborations with incredible individuals and brands. A big part of what I do involves creating content that connects my deep love for Elvis with the incredibly passionate team at Graceland. While my work spans a variety of storytelling styles, Graceland remains a special thread throughout, from archive-led features to personal reflections and conversations around both Elvis and Lisa Marie Presley.
Most importantly, I always keep the love and devotion of the Elvis community at the heart of it all, because I truly understand how special that connection is. There’s nothing quite like it, and it means so much to be part of something so meaningful. By sharing these stories and including interviews with voices from across the Elvis world, I aim to bridge, educate, inspire, and celebrate a legacy that continues to resonate today.
Being from the UK, traveling back and forth to Tennessee was tough. I always felt like I was leaving a piece of my heart behind. So, I packed up my bags and moved to Nashville, just steps away from RCA’s Studio B, where Elvis recorded over 200 songs, and only three hours from Graceland, his beloved home.
What started as personal curiosity has now become something more – sharing Elvis’ legacy through meaningful content, engaging storytelling, and real community, connecting with Elvis’ incredible fans from all around the world. I aim to present Elvis in a way that resonates today, not just as an icon of the past, but as a lasting influence who still inspires people around the world. Ultimately, my goal is to honor who he was beyond the stage, and to help others discover (or rediscover) the man behind the music.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest challenges I face is helping educate and open the minds of people who may already have fixed or limited perceptions of who Elvis was. So often, people think of the jumpsuit, the hair, or the stereotypes, but there’s so much more to his story, and to who he truly was as a person and artist.
What I try to do through content creation is gently show a different side to those surface-level views and open up conversations around Elvis’ deeper legacy, his creativity, his vulnerability, his groundbreaking influence on music and culture, and even the spiritual depth he carried. The challenge is that not everyone is open to listening beyond the myths or media narratives they’ve grown up with.
However, I believe storytelling has the power to shift that, especially when it’s shared with heart. That’s why I do what I do, to help more people connect with the real Elvis, the one that still moves us today.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a content creator who specializes in storytelling centered around Elvis Presley… his life, his music, and the lasting legacy and love he left behind. After watching Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 Elvis movie I felt deeply inspired to understand the man behind the icon. What started as personal curiosity quickly evolved into a full-time passion. I launched a platform to share everything I was learning, and it resonated with a global audience. Since then, I’ve built a community of incredible people who join me in exploring and honoring Elvis and the people and places connected to his journey.
I adore creating heartfelt, immersive content that blends education with emotional storytelling. Whether I’m highlighting little-known facts, sharing reflective pieces, or conducting interviews, my work is focused on making Elvis’ legacy feel fresh, human, and deeply meaningful. Through collaborations with individuals, brands, and voices within the Elvis and music community, I’ve built a platform that celebrates both historical accuracy and personal connection.
I adore being in the heart of Nashville due to the music history here and its deep ties to both Elvis and his daughter, Lisa Marie Presley. Nashville holds significant history for the Presley family. Elvis recorded over 200 songs at RCA Studio B, and Lisa Marie spent meaningful time in the city recording music and shaping her own artistic path. I enjoy featuring the Nashville connections in my work, offering audiences a deeper look at the locations, stories, and moments that shaped their lives.
Honoring Lisa Marie’s story is an essential part of what I do. Her life adds another dimension to Elvis’ legacy, one that is often overlooked but deeply important. By sharing her music, milestones, who she was and connection to Tennessee, I aim to help others understand how she carried her father’s spirit forward while carving out her own identity.
I’m most proud of the community that’s grown around this journey, a group of people who care not only about Elvis the performer, but Elvis and Lisa the people. My mission will always be to preserve their legacies with integrity, creativity, and heart, and to ensure their stories continue to educate and inspire across generations whilst infusing my content with plenty of love around Graceland, Memphis and Nashville.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Some of my favorite books include Elvis Day by Day by Peter Guralnick, which has been an incredible resource for tracking Elvis’ whereabouts year by year, even down to specific dates. It’s helped me deeply in my research, especially when pinpointing historical locations, many of which are here in Nashville. I also love the archive-based books published by Graceland – their collections offer a rich, behind-the-scenes look into Elvis’ personal life and career. These resources allow me to create content that’s not only engaging but also as historically accurate as possible and rooted in real detail to help the creative process.
