Check Out Ashtyn Johnson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashtyn Johnson.

Hi Ashtyn, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in a small town in North Dakota, dog momma to 2 boys, Tango and Waffles i grew up on my grandparents farm, riding horses, helping with the cows, and riding in the tractor. All there is to do pretty much is hunt and fish and it’s not too bad but i knew i always wanted more than what ND had to offer me. After high school i started cosmetology school right away, graduated and had my own business by the time i was 21. Even with the success of it i still had this empty missing feeling to my life.. i knew i needed to change so when my mom had taken me to Nashville for my 21st i fell in love with every part of what TN had to offer me..
At the time, i had no idea what God was doing and how he was truly working in my life..
In hair school i thrived at the editorial side of the job.. From hair, makeup, and wardrobe, to the way the vision comes to life in the lens.. so I’ve been in Nashville for 4 years now.. when i first got out here i was in a terrible abusive relationship that kept me in the shadows of life. I was manipulated and controlled and couldn’t have a job, my own friends, my own life practically.. so now that i have been fully broken out of that relationship for almost 2 years it has truly open so many doors and i view life so much differently now… God continues to bless me in all my work. So currently i freelance as a stylist and model for various brand and country music artists.. i love what i do and cannot wait to grow in my career.. I have been 10 months sober and its been the best 10 month of my life… im healthy and on the path God wants me to be on, I’ve started doing pageant work as well. I am just absolutely grateful to be where i am today.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Sobriety has been a major factor

Finding my faith

The abusive relationship i was in almost killed me and he almost killed my dog waffles..

Finding self love for myself and that i was worthy of it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I wear many different hats, From bartending in Nashville, to Modeling for various artists and photographers, i also am a stylist i specialize in men’s styling and curly hair as well. I also still do freelance makeup and hair for wedding or special events. Im very creative when it comes to fashion or photoshoots being in front of the camera is a safe place for me. I feel what sets me apart from others is that i have a warm unique feminine presence to myself that i can truly let people be vulnerable with me and they tell me their life stories, which i love..

What makes you happy?
What makes me happy is truly just living life to the fullest, my dogs, enjoying nature (hiking/camping) honestly anything outdoors. I love music and i really love modeling, helping artists turn their vision to a reality is where i find a lot of joy. Sharing Jesus has and forever will always bring me Joy because you never know who or what or when its needed, because when I was facing dark times that was the only light at the end of the tunnel for me and you just never know what someone is going through so always treating others how you want to be treated is just very important and what brings me happiness.
