Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloe Collins.
Hi Chloe, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started writing songs when I was 8 years old, after I saw the Hannah Montana movie. I practiced the song “Butterfly Fly Away” for 13 hours in one day, and from then on, I was teaching myself guitar and piano chords and writing my own music. I had my first song in a TV show when I was 13, it was the ABC Family show “The Vineyard.” Since then, 16 more of my songs went on to be placed in “Love Island,” “Love is Blind,” the 100th episode of “Nashville,” 6 episodes of “Heartland,” and more.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have definitely been some struggles. I had a hard time deciding whether I wanted to be an artist, songwriter, or exclusively write for TV and film. I’ve been fortunate enough to have multiple artist cuts and songs of mine on shows, as well as being able to release my own songs that went viral on TikTok. I’ve gained a fanbase online and in Nashville, and I am deciding to pursue all three of those avenues for the many years to come.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a singer-songwriter in Nashville and I mainly write for my artist project, other artists, TV and film. While I’ve had quite a few songs of mine on TV shows, my first placement was very memorable. I was 13 and my song was featured in “The Vineyard” on ABC Family. I remember being so proud of the fact that my hard work had finally paid off in the form of a placement on national television.
Any big plans?
I am looking forward to songwriting for a variety of different TV shows. I’ve recently decided that I want to focus on TV much more than I have in the past. I get to combine my love for acting and music when I write for Netflix, Peacock, ABC, and more.
