Daily Inspiration: Meet Nicholas Del Rosso

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Del Rosso.

Hi Nicholas, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey into the world of events started at 15 years old when I landed my first job as the Friday night DJ at an ice skating rink in Randolph, New Jersey. It was a humble setup, but it was also where I discovered the power of music to set a mood, move a crowd, and create memories. Not long after, I joined a team run by a local wedding photographer, working as a photo booth attendant and assistant DJ. I juggled both jobs throughout high school, gaining hands-on experience in entertainment, client service, and live event logistics.

By the time I turned 18, I knew I wanted to turn my passion into something bigger – so I launched Blue Star Productions DJs. What began as a solo venture with a speaker system and a dream has grown into a full-service entertainment company serving weddings, corporate events, and community gatherings across Middle Tennessee.

Over the years, I’ve expanded our offerings to include lighting, photo booths, and production support, all while staying rooted in the values I started with: professionalism, personalization, and passion for making every event feel extraordinary. Today, I’m proud to have a company that’s trusted to bring energy, structure, and celebration to life’s most meaningful moments.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like most small business journeys, it’s been anything but a straight, smooth road, but these challenges have helped shape the business into what it is today. Starting a business in the entertainment industry, especially one built around once in a lifetime events like weddings, means being prepared for unpredictability.

One of the biggest hurdles for me came during the pandemic, when events came to a complete halt and I relocated the business over 800 miles to middle Tennessee. That period forced me to re-evaluate, adapt, and find ways to keep the business alive until gatherings resumed. It was also a time of personal and professional growth – learning how to build a stronger brand, improve systems, and better connect with my clients.

Another ongoing challenge has been scaling the business while maintaining a high standard of service. Every wedding is supposed to be someone’s best day ever, and as the entertainment I feel it’s my responsibility to treat every wedding like the most important event of my career. As demand grows, I’m continuing to learn how to build a reliable team, delegate effectively, and still make every couple feel like they’re getting that personalized, five-star experience.

Through it all, the passion for creating unforgettable experiences has never gone away. The struggles have ultimately made the wins even more meaningful.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Blue Star Productions DJs is my passion project that I’ve turned into a profession. As the owner and lead entertainer, I wear a lot of hats. I work directly with clients from the moment they reach out to us all the way through the end of their event and manage every aspect of that experience. That said, I think what truly defines my role is being the person who sets the tone for some of the most important moments in people’s lives.

I like to create personalized, high-energy experiences that reflect my clients’ unique vision. Weddings have been at the heart of my work, and I’ve built a reputation for being more than just a DJ – I’m the one making sure everything runs smoothly, the energy stays high, and the crowd stays engaged. From the music to the lighting to the overall vibe, I take great pride in making sure every detail is just right.

What sets Blue Star apart is that it’s not a faceless company. When clients book with us, they’re not getting a stranger -they’re getting me. I personally guide each couple through the process, get to know them, and bring that connection into the performance. That personal investment makes all the difference.

I’m most proud of the trust people place in me. It’s a big deal to be invited into someone’s celebration, and I never take that for granted. Whether it’s a wedding, prom, or a corporate event, my goal is always the same: to help people connect, celebrate, and leave with lasting memories.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love Nashvilles’s energy! There’s a unique blend of creativity, hospitality, and ambition here that makes it an exciting place to run an entertainment business.

There’s not much that I don’t like about middle Tennessee in general, but I will say it’s a fast-paced market that can be difficult for small businesses to break through. There are a lot of talented professionals here, which is genuinely inspiring, but it also means you really have to hustle to stand out. I see that as a challenge worth embracing. It’s pushed me to step up my game and find creative ways to bring fresh value to my clients.
